Kali Sindh River
The Kali Sindh, is a river in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in northern India. It is a tributary of the Chambal River in the Ganges Basin. The main tributaries of the Kali Sindh are the Parwan, Niwaj and Ahu rivers. The Kali Sindh River drains a major portion of the Malwa region, and is the biggest river flowing in the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. Geography The Kali Sindh is a perennial stream in the Chambal drainage of the Yamuna Basin of the greater Ganges Basin. It typically reaches flood stage during the monsoon season of India. A gravity dam is a dam constructed from concrete or stone masonry and designed to hold back water by using only the weight of the material and its resistance against the foundation to oppose the horizontal pressure of water pushing against it. Kalisindh Thermal Power Station
Kalisindh Thermal Power Station is located 12 km away from Jhalawar town in Jhalawar district, Rajasthan state in western India. The power plant is operated by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL). Water for the plant is provided by the Kalisindh Dam reservoir, near Bhanwarasi village. Coal for the plant will be sourced from Paras east and Kanta basin coal blocks in Chhattisgarh state. Its chimney has a height of 275 metres. The two cooling towers of the facility are 202 metres tall, the tallest in the world. The EPC contractor for the project is BGR Energy Systems Ltd.
