Kabanga, Kirundo Province
Kabanga is a village and a ''colline'' in the Commune of Busoni, Kirundo Province, Burundi. Location Kabanga is on the RP 61 road from Busoni to the west, and is in the northeast of the Commune of Busoni. It is southeast of the south end of Lake Kanzigiri, situated to the northeast of Kabanga, which drains north into Lake Rweru. It lies at the juncture of routes 63 and 314, northeast of Busoni, and south of Nyagisozi. Health center There is a health center in Kabanga. It uses solar panels, with storage and an AC converter, to supply power for lights, medical equipment and refrigeration. It served a target population of 22,936 as of 2017. As of 2013, quality of service levels for hygeine, maternity care and financial management were high, at around 95%. Kirundo Province
Kirundo Province is one of the eighteen provinces of Burundi. Kirundo has three big lakes: Cohoha, Rweru, and Rwihinda. Lakes Cohoha and Rweru are located in commune Busone, and Lake Rwihinda is in commune Kirundo. Kirundo is the capital city of province Kirundo. Before the climate change, Kirundo was the richest province because of its productive land. Now Kirundo is no longer productive. The climate change devastate the province forever. In fifteen years those three lakes are almost half evaporated. It is the northernmost province and it shares an international border with Rwanda. Lake Kanzigiri
Lake Kanzigiri (french: Lac Kanzigiri, ) is a lake in the Kirundo Province of Burundi. Location Lake Kanzigiri is on the boundary between the Commune of Bwambarangwe to the east and the Commune of Busoni to the west. It lies to the south of Lake Rweru, to which it is connected by an area of marshland. The settlement of Kabanga is to the west of its southern point, and the settlement of Bunwera is to the east of the same point. Mukenke is to the south. The lake covers . Lake Rweru
Lake Rweru is a lake close to the northernmost point of Burundi in central Africa. The northern shore of the lake forms part of Burundi's border with Rwanda. It is the most distant origin point of the Nile River. The Kagera River, considered by many as the start point of the Nile, rises at the northern part of the lake, located in Rwanda. Geography The lake has a surface area of between two countries, Burundi () and Rwanda (). The lake has a shoreline of approximately 76 km. The lake is very shallow in most parts and has a mean depth of 2.1 m with its maximum depth at 3 m located in Burundi. National Forces Of Liberation
The National Forces of Liberation (french: Forces nationales de libération, or FNL) is a political party and former rebel group in Burundi. An ethnic Hutu group, the party was previously known as the Party for the Liberation of the Hutu People (''Parti pour la libération du peuple Hutu'', or PALIPEHUTU) and adhered to a radical Hutu Power ideology, but since the mid- to late-2000s has moderated its stance and cooperated with the Tutsi-supported Union for National Progress party in opposition to the rule of Pierre Nkurunziza and the CNDD-FDD. PALIPEHUTU was a participant in the Burundian Civil War. Its armed wing was the National Forces of Liberation (''Forces nationales de libération'', or FNL). Edouard Nduwimana
Edouard Nduwimana is a Burundian politician and a former Minister of Home Affairs and Ombudsman of the Republic of Burundi from 2011 to 2016. Nduwimana received an Honoris Causa Ph.D. Diploma in Leadership and Management from London Graduate School and Commonwealth University in 2019. Career Nduwimana first major political appointment was his appointment as Minister of Home Affairs. He later became the second vice-president of the Burundian Parliament. While in this position in the parliament, he was nominated for the election of Ombudsman of the Republic of Burundi along with seven others.
