KFMC was a classic rock station as "KFMC 106.5" until July 6, 2018, when the station started stunting with a loop of “Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport” by Rolf Harris in preparation of a new format which would debut on July 9, at Noon. At the promised time, it flipped to classic hits as “106.5 Lakes FM”. The first song on the new “106.5 Lakes FM” was “1999” by Prince. KEMJ (101.5 FM, "101-5 The Emoji") is a radio station broadcasting a Hot Adult Contemporary format serving the St. James/Fairmont, Minnesota area. The station is currently owned by Linder Radio Group. On April 1, 2020, the then-KRRW changed its callsign to KEMJ, while the KRRW calls and the classic country format moved to 105.9 FM, which began a simulcast with KEMJ. On April 18, 2020, KEMJ/KRRW re-branded as "Northstar Country 101.5/105.9." On May 15, 2020, KEMJ stopped simulcasting KRRW and began stunting with a loop of "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport" by Rolf Harris in preparation of a new format. Fairmont is a city in and the county seat of Martin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 10,487 at the 2020 census. History Fairmont was platted in 1857. "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport" is a song written by Australian singer Rolf Harris in 1957 which became a hit around the world in the 1960s in two recordings (1960 in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom for the original, and 1963 in the United States with a re-recording of the song). Inspired by Harry Belafonte's calypsos, most noticeably "The Jack-Ass Song", it is about an Australian stockman on his deathbed. Classic hits is a radio format which generally includes songs from the top 40 music charts from the late 1960s to the early 2000s, with music from the 1980s serving as the core of the format.
