K-Swift
Khia Danielle Edgerton (October 19, 1978 – July 21, 2008), better known by the stage name K-Swift, was an American DJ, MC, radio personality and entrepreneur. Early years Born to Joseph and Juanita Edgerton, K-Swift was raised in Randallstown, Maryland. She graduated from Randallstown High School in 1996 and went on to intern at 92Q after a brief stint at Catonsville Community College. Entertainment career After acquiring her first set of turntables at 15 years old, K-Swift began DJing and booking parties at afterhours venue The Twilight Zone in Arbutus. She began interning at 92Q when she was 18, and worked her way through the ranks at the station until she earned a co-hosting position in 1998. Baltimore Club
Baltimore club, also called Bmore club, Bmore house or simply Bmore, is a fusion of breakbeat and house genres. It is often referred to as a blend of hip hop and chopped, staccato house music. It was created in Baltimore, Maryland, United States in the early 1990s by 2 Live Crew's Luther Campbell, Frank Ski, Miss Tony (known as Big Tony after he stopped presenting in drag), Scottie B. and DJ Spen. Baltimore club is based on an 8/4 beat structure, and includes tempos around 130 beats per minute. It combines repetitive, looped vocal snippets similar to trap, bounce, ghetto house and ghettotech. Baltimore club is a sample-based form of breakbeat. Samples used include theme songs from shows like ''Sanford and Son'', ''SpongeBob SquarePants'' and ''Elmo's World''. The Paradox
The Paradox was a South Baltimore dance club from 1991 to 2016. It was originally a home to house music, but later on got more of a hip hop feel. The club was founded by Wayne Davis. History The Paradox was an important gathering place for Baltimore's DJs, producers, and dance music fans. The sound system was developed, designed, and installed by Richard Long of Richard Long & Associates (RLA) and Dave Soto. The club marked important events in the careers of many notable Djs and Promoters in the Baltimore Club Music scene such as K-Swift, Scott Henry, Leroy Burgess Jr., Scottie B and Charles Feelgood. The Paradox closed its doors permanently in 2016, following a social media announcement by club owner Wayne Davis in October 2015. Tate Kobang
Joshua Dai’Quan Goods (born April 28, 1992), known professionally as Tate Kobang, is an American rapper and songwriter. Although active in the Baltimore hip-hop scene since 2011, he rose to prominence with "Bank Rolls (Remix)," a 90-second promotional single for his April 2015 release “Live Hazey,” released on YouTube on April 19, 2015, in remembrance of his mother. In 2020, he co-wrote the single " Mr. Right Now" by 21 Savage and Metro Boomin (featuring Drake).
