Jururei
Jururei is a tiny uncontacted Indian tribe numbering 8-10 people living in the Pacaás Novos National Park inside the Uru-Eu-Uaw-Uaw Indigenous Territory in Rondônia State, Brazil. In 2005 their land was invaded by loggers who tried to wipe them out. It is not known how many of the tribespeople were killed in the conflict that followed. Terra Indigena Uru-Eu-Uaw-Uaw is an indigenous territory located in central Rondônia, Brazil. It has a contacted Indian population of around 168 people belonging to Amondaua, Uru Pa In, Juma, and Jupaú tribes (). There remains an unknown number of uncontacted Indians who belong to 4 to 6 different tribes like Jururei, Yvyraparaquara, Uru Pa In (uncontacted bands), and Parakua. The uncontacted population was estimated at somewhere between 1,000 and 1,200 in 1986, but it has declined very steeply in the recent decades. Uncontacted peoples are groups of indigenous peoples living without sustained contact with neighbouring communities and the world community. Groups who decide to remain uncontacted are referred to as indigenous peoples in voluntary isolation. Pacaás Novos National Park
Pacaás Novos National Park ( pt, Parque Nacional de Pacaás Novos) is a national park in the state of Rondônia, Brazil. The park contains a mountain range by the same name. Location The park is in the Amazon biome. It covers an area of . It was established by decree 84.019 of 21 September 1979, and is administered by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation. The park covers parts of the municipalities of Alvorada d'Oeste, Campo Novo de Rondônia, Governador Jorge Teixeira, Guajará-Mirim, Mirante da Serra and Nova Mamoré in the state of Rondônia. The park takes its name from the Pacaás Novos River, which rises in the Pacaás Novos mountains in the west of the park and flows southwest via the Rio Pacaás Novos Extractive Reserve to join the Mamoré River just south of Guajará-Mirim. Rondônia () is one of the 26 states of Brazil, located in the northern subdivision of the country (central-western part). To the west is a short border with the state of Acre, to the north is the state of Amazonas, in the east is Mato Grosso, and in the south and southwest is Bolivia.
