Joseph P. Allyn
Joseph Pratt Allyn (March 9, 1833 – May 24, 1869) was an American jurist and journalist who served as one of the original Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of Arizona Territory. Background Allyn was born in Hartford, Connecticut, to Timothy Mather and Susan Ann (Pratt) Allyn on March 9, 1833. His family was wealthy and he was educated by private tutors due to chronic health problems. Upon reaching adulthood, Allyn went to work at a local wholesaling firm. Andrew Johnson
Andrew Johnson (December 29, 1808July 31, 1875) was the 17th president of the United States, serving from 1865 to 1869. He assumed the presidency as he was vice president at the time of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Johnson was a Democrat who ran with Lincoln on the National Union ticket, coming to office as the Civil War concluded.
