Jon Courtenay
Jon Courtenay (born 4 March 1973) is an English singer, pianist, entertainer and comedian, known for winning the Britain's Got Talent (series 14), fourteenth series of ''Britain's Got Talent'', having previously been awarded the golden buzzer during his audition by presenters Ant & Dec. He was the first ever Golden Buzzer act to win in the history of the show. During filming BGT in July 2020, a suspicious Nevus, mole on the left side of his head was found to be a melanoma. This wasn't talked about on the show so as not to become the narrative, and after treatment he was given the all-clear by the end of that year. It was then discovered that the cancer had spread to his neck which required major surgery and a course of treatment. This experience inspired a new show 'Against The Odds', a one-man comedy musical that he took to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2022. He is from Mossley, Greater Manchester and has also lived in Suffolk. Warrant Officer Class 2 Colin Thackery (born 9 March 1930) is a British Korean War veteran and singer who won the thirteenth series of ''Britain's Got Talent'' in June 2019. As the winner, he received £250,000 and performed at the 2019 Royal Variety Performance. At 89, he became the oldest ever winner of the talent show. Career Thackery served in the Royal Artillery of the Army, and saw service in Malaya and the Korean War. His medals represent this service, the General Service Medal with clasp ''Malaya''; the Korea Medal and the United Nations Korea Medal. In 2019, Thackery won Britain's Got Talent. Melanoma
Melanoma, also redundantly known as malignant melanoma, is a type of skin cancer that develops from the pigment-producing cells known as melanocytes. Melanomas typically occur in the skin, but may rarely occur in the mouth, intestines, or eye (uveal melanoma). In women, they most commonly occur on the legs, while in men, they most commonly occur on the back. About 25% of melanomas develop from moles. Changes in a mole that can indicate melanoma include an increase in size, irregular edges, change in color, itchiness, or skin breakdown.
