Jessica Blaszka
Jessica Blaszka (born 5 August 1992 in Heerlen) is a retired Netherlands, Dutch Wrestling, wrestler who wrestled mainly in the 48 kg Wrestling weight classes, weight class. She is a bronze medalist at the World Wrestling Championships and a two-time medalist at the European Wrestling Championships. Career In the youth category she became European Champion in 2007 (43 kg), 2008 (46 kg) and 2009 (46 kg) and won the silver medal as a junior in 2010 (48 kg). She represented the Netherlands at the 2015 European Games, Netherlands at the 2015 European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, where she lost in the quarter-finals and finished in 9th position. She won the bronze medal in the 2015 World Wrestling Championships – Women's freestyle 48 kg, women's freestyle 48 kg at the 2015 World Wrestling Championships in Las Vegas, United States. Freestyle Wrestling
Freestyle wrestling is a style of wrestling originated from Great Britain and the United States. Along with Greco-Roman, it is one of the two styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic Games. American high school and men's college wrestling is conducted under different rules and is termed scholastic and collegiate wrestling. American collegiate women's wrestling is conducted under freestyle rules. Freestyle wrestling, like collegiate wrestling, has its greatest origins in catch-as-catch-can wrestling. In both styles the ultimate goal is to throw and pin the opponent to the mat, which results in an immediate win. Unlike Greco-Roman, freestyle and collegiate wrestling allow the use of the wrestler's or the opponent's legs in offense and defense. Wrestling At The 2016 Summer Olympics
Wrestling at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place from 14 to 21 August at the Carioca Arena 2 in Barra da Tijuca. Wrestling had been split into two disciplines, Freestyle wrestling, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, Greco-Roman, which were further divided into different weight categories. Men competed in both disciplines whereas women only participated in the freestyle events, with 18 gold medals awarded. Amateur wrestling, Wrestling had been contested at every modern Summer Olympic Games, except 1900 Summer Olympics, Paris 1900. Around 344 wrestlers competed in 18 events at the 2016 Summer Olympics. In September 2013, a new change to the rules and guidelines of the sport had been instituted and overhauled by the International Olympic Committee and United World Wrestling, FILA (now known as the United World Wrestling).
