The 2012 World Wrestling Championships was held at Millennium Place in Strathcona County, Alberta, Canada. Traditionally, Wrestling World Championships are not held in Olympic years, but in 2012 a female championship was held because the 2012 Summer Olympics included only four of the seven FILA weight classes for females. Strathcona County

Maria Prevolaraki ( el, Μαρία Πρεβολαράκη; born 21 December 1991 in Athens) is a Greek freestyle wrestler. She competed in the freestyle 55 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics and was eliminated by Yuliya Ratkevich in the 1/8 finals. That year, she also won a bronze medal at the World Championships. Jenny Fransson (born 17 July 1987 in Karlstad) is a female freestyle wrestler from Sweden who participated in Women's freestyle wrestling 72 kg at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, in the 1/8 final she lost 1:3 to Wang Jiao, then in the repechage round Fransson lost to Ali Bernard from United States. Shelok Dolma also called Xi Luozhuoma or Xiluo Zhuo Ma (born October 24, 1987) is a Tibetan female wrestler from China. Biography Dolma was born in the Tibetan region of Nyingrtri in Kongpo.
