JerryC
JerryC (; born 31 August 1981), also known by his English name Jerry Chang, is a Taiwanese guitarist and composer. He is known for arranging and playing "Canon Rock", a rock arrangement of Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D. He began playing the guitar at the age of 17, and the piano before age 15. His style is influenced by classical music, neoclassical guitarists, as well as metal bands such as Helloween and Metallica and Japanese rock bands such as B'z and L'Arc-en-Ciel. Canon Rock His most famous work, "Canon Rock", was made popular only after South Korean guitarist Lim Jeong-hyun, also known as funtwo, performed a cover version in 2005. The song has garnered much media attention; both renditions have been featured on newspapers such as ''The New York Times'', blogs, television shows and radios worldwide. He uploaded his video to the popular South Korean music websitMule.co.kr A YouTube user named "guitar90" uploaded the Mule video to YouTube under the title ''guitar'', with the introductory comment "this guy iz great!!!". The identity of guitar90 is unknown. In March 2016, the original YouTube video was restored and is once again publicly available. The video still holds the views before it was taken down in 2011. Lim's cover of "Canon Rock" has been mentioned on CNN, 20/20, ''The New York Times'', and National Public Radio, in addition to MBC news, CBC Radio, KBS news, and other South Korean news stations. Pachelbel's Canon
Pachelbel's Canon (also known as the Canon in D, P 37) is an accompanied canon by the German Baroque composer Johann Pachelbel. The canon was originally scored for three violins and basso continuo and paired with a gigue, known as ''Canon and Gigue for 3 violins and basso continuo''. Both movements are in the key of D major. Although a true canon at the unison in three parts, it also has elements of a chaconne. Neither the date nor the circumstances of its composition are known (suggested dates range from 1680 to 1706), and the oldest surviving manuscript copy of the piece dates from 1838 to 1842. Like his other works, Pachelbel's Canon went out of style, and remained in obscurity for centuries. A 1968 arrangement and recording of it by the Jean-François Paillard chamber orchestra gained popularity over the next decade, and in the 1970s the piece began to be recorded by many ensembles; by the early 1980s its presence as background music was deemed inescapable. L'Arc-en-Ciel ( French: 'The Rainbow', stylized as L'Arc~en~Ciel), also known as Laruku, is a Japanese rock band, formed in Osaka in 1991 by bassist tetsuya and vocalist hyde. Lü Jianzhong 呂建中 (born 6 February 1982), better known by his stage name Tank, is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter. He is currently signed to HIM International Music. His debut album, ''Fighting'' (; ''Fighting, The Law of Surviving'') was released on 23 February 2006. His latest album, ''The 3rd Round'', was released on 31 May 2009. Tablature
Tablature (or tabulature, or tab for short) is a form of musical notation indicating instrument fingering rather than musical pitches. Tablature is common for fretted stringed instruments such as the guitar, lute or vihuela, as well as many free reed aerophones such as the harmonica. Tablature was common during the Renaissance and Baroque eras, and is commonly used today in notating many forms of music. Three types of organ tablature were used in Europe: German, Spanish and Italian.
