Jennifer Crouse (curler)
Jennifer "JC" Lee Crouse (born January 23, 1980 in Antigonish, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian curler from Timberlea, Nova Scotia. Career Crouse would win her first provincial title with Nancy McConnery defeating Mary-Anne Arsenault in 2009 throwing third rocks earning the right to represent Nova Scotia at the 2009 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Unfortunately the team would not make playoffs at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts finishing with a disappointing 2-9 record. The following year Crouse won a second provincial title with Nancy McConnery, defeating Mary-Anne Arsenault in 2010 and the right to represent Nova Scotia at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts again the team ended up with another disappointing finish at nationals at 1-10. The McConnery team disbanded the end of the 2010 season. Timberlea, Nova Scotia
Timberlea is a community located within the Municipality of Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada. History The community was first known as Nine Mile River after the river in the centre of the community which fed several early mills. In the mid-19th century, the St. Margaret's Bay Road was routed through the community. Several hotels were established to cater to travelers and later sportspeople and the Nine Mile River was crossed by an arched stone bridge, which survived until 2014 as one of the only surviving stone bridges in Nova Scotia. After the arrival of the Halifax and Southwestern Railway in 1904, the community was referred to as Bowser's Station; after Angus Bowser. Angus Bowser ran a hotel near the area's train station near present-day Greenwood Heights. In 1922, the community was renamed Timberlea to reflect the importance of the forest and lumbering. Mary-Anne Arsenault
Mary-Anne Arsenault (born August 19, 1968 in Scarborough, Ontario, also known as Mary-Anne Waye when she was married) is a Canadian curler from Lake Country, British Columbia. She is a five-time Canadian Champion, and two-time World Curling Champion. Arsenault has skipped her own team since 2007. Career 1999–2006 Arsenault joined up with Colleen Jones prior to the 1999 season. She had previously played with Jones, as her lead at the 1993 Scott Tournament of Hearts. Together with Jones, Nancy Delahunt and Kim Kelly, the team would achieve great success, winning 5 Canadian Championships, and 2 World Championships. After a record winning 4 championships in a row, the team would struggle at the 2005 Scott Tournament of Hearts. Nancy McConnery
Nancy McConnery (born Nancy Horne on February 26, 1963) is a Canadian curler from Blockhouse, Nova Scotia. She currently skips her own team out of the Windsor Curling Club in Windsor, Nova Scotia. McConnery has represented both New Brunswick and Nova Scotia at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Her first Scott appearance was in 1993 representing New Brunswick. McConnery skipped her team which included Sandy Comeau. They would finish 2-9 in round robin play. She would once again return to the Scott in 1995 this time playing second for Heidi Hanlon, and would finish 4-7 in round robin play. McConnery’s next appearance would be in 2003 where she skipped her own team, this time representing Nova Scotia. She would finish round robin play 5-6, her best showing at the Tournament of Hearts to date.
