JSW Energy Limited is an Indian power company engaged in power generation, transmission and trading. It is part of JSW Group. In 2015, JSW Energy acquired two of Jaypee Group's hydropower plants, with a combined capacity of 1,391 MW, for 9,700 crore. Operations JSW Energy has 5,681 MW of operational generating capacity. Kinnaur District
Kinnaur is one of the twelve administrative districts of the state of Himachal Pradesh in northern India. The district is divided into three administrative areas (Kalpa, Nichar (Bhabanagar), and Pooh) and has six tehsils. The administrative headquarters of the district is at Reckong Peo. Karcham Wangtoo Hydroelectric Plant
The Karcham Wangtoo Hydroelectric Plant is a run-of-the-river hydroelectric power station on the Sutlej River in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh state of India. Etymology The dam and power station are located between the villages of Karcham and Wangtoo where the plant also gains its name. History In 1993, and after years of delays, the Jaypee Karcham Hydro Corporation Limited of Jaypee Group signed a memorandum of understanding to develop the dam. Barmer District is a district in Rajasthan state of India. It is located in the western part of Rajasthan state forming a part of the Thar Desert. JSW Barmer Power Station is a coal-based thermal power plant located in Bhadresh village in Barmer district, Rajasthan, India. The power plant is operated by the company JSW Energy Limited. The coal for the plant is sourced from Kapurdi and Jalipa mines. Water for the power plant is sourced from Indira Gandhi Canal by constructing a 185 km pipeline.
