Józef Wandzik
Józef Wandzik (born 13 August 1963) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Born in Tarnowskie Góry, Wandzik began his career at Rodlo Gorniki, before moving to Ruch Chorzów. After a couple of years playing there, he was transferred to rival club Górnik Zabrze. With Górnik Zabrze, he went on to win the Polish League in 1985-1988 and came third in 1989. His reliability earned him a transfer to Greek club Panathinaikos in the summer of 1990. With Panathinaikos, he achieved much success, reaching the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League in 1995, losing only to Ajax in the second game. He also went ahead and won the Greek League in 1991, 1995 and 1996, the Greek Cup in 1991, 1993, 1994 and 1995, the Greek League and the Greek Supercup in 1993 and 1995. Tarnowskie Góry
Tarnowskie Góry (German: ''Tarnowitz''; szl, Tarnowske Gōry) is a town in Silesia, southern Poland, located in the Silesian Highlands near Katowice. On the south it borders the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union, a megalopolis, the greater Silesian metropolitan area populated by about 5,294,000 people. The population of the town is 61,842 (2021). As of 1999, it is part of Silesian Voivodeship, previously Katowice Voivodeship. The Historic Silver Mine of Tarnowskie Góry, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is located in the town. The 1986 FIFA World Cup was the 13th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial football tournament for men's senior national teams. It was played in Mexico from 31 May to 29 June 1986. The tournament was the second to feature a 24-team format. Colombia had been originally chosen to host the competition by FIFA but, largely due to economic reasons, was not able to do so, and resigned in 1982. Mexico was selected as the new host in May 1983, and became the first country to host the World Cup more than once, after previously hosting in 1970. The World Cup was won by Argentina (their second title, after winning in 1978). 1994–95 Greek Football Cup
The 1994–95 Greek Football Cup was the 53rd edition of the Greek Football Cup. Tournament details Totally 72 teams participated, 18 from Alpha Ethniki, 18 from Beta, and 36 from Gamma. It was held in 6 rounds, included final. The Final was contested for second possessed year by Panathinaikos and AEK Athens, the "greens" via fire and iron, while in their course they eliminated, inter alia, Skoda Xanthi, with a goal in the last minute of extra time, and Olympiacos, with a goal in the last minute of the match with away goals rule. The 1993–94 Greek Football Cup was the 52nd edition of the Greek Football Cup. Tournament details Totally 72 teams participated, 18 from Alpha Ethniki, 18 from Beta, and 36 from Gamma. It was a very interesting competition with undecided matches and led in a Final between Panathinaikos and AEK Athens, a pair that had not appeared in a Greek Cup Final for 45 years, since the last confrontation between the two teams in the final match was in 1949. AEK Athens qualified in the Final after 11 years, while Panathinaikos had eliminated PAOK earlier in penalty shootout, after two goalless draws. The final match was the one of two more shocking Finals in history of Greek Cup, after the Final of 1976. The 1992–93 Greek Football Cup was the 51st edition of the Greek Football Cup. Tournament details Totally 72 teams participated, 18 from Alpha Ethniki, 18 from Beta, and 36 from Gamma. Without particular surprises, minus the elimination of Aris in the Group stage by Ethnikos Piraeus and Paniliakos, teams of lower divisions, the three big teams of Attica qualified easily or with difficulty to semi-finals. In that round, Olympiacos eliminated AEK Athens, the season's champions, after two very interesting matches, with qualification to be judged in extra time. Panathinaikos had easier work against Apollon Athens. In the Final, that was held in Olympic Stadium, Panathinaikos managed to win their ''eternal'' opponent by 1–0, opening the street for a line of three possessed wins of the Cup. The Greek Football Cup ( el, Κύπελλο Ελλάδος Ποδοσφαίρου), commonly known as the Greek Cup or Kypello Elladas is a Greek football competition, run by the Hellenic Football Federation.
