Justin Moyer
Justin Moyer (born 1977) is an American musician and journalist. He has been a member of many Washington, D.C.-based bands on Dischord Records, including El Guapo, Supersystem, Antelope, and E.D. Sedgwick. He writes for ''The Washington Post''. Bands El Guapo/Supersystem Moyer formed El Guapo with Rafael Cohen, now a member of !!!, at Wesleyan university in 1996, when Moyer and Cohen were juniors. After recording for Resin, Mud Memory, Dischord, and Touch and Go Records, the band broke up in 2006. Antelope Moyer formed Antelope with Bee Elvy and Mike Andre in 2001. After releasing an eponymous EP produced by Trans Am's Phil Manley as well as a single and full-length produced by Ian MacKaye, the band broke up in 2008. SPRCSS In 2006, Moyer declared the defunct New Jersey group S-Process, also known as SPRCSS, his favorite band in a blog post and called for the band to reform. French Kiss Records
Frenchkiss Records is an independent record label based in New York City. The label was started in 1999 by Syd Butler, bassist and founder of Les Savy Fav. The label's first purpose was to release Les Savy Fav's second album ''The Cat and The Cobra'', but has since been the label responsible for discovering a varying array of artists such as The Hold Steady, The Antlers, The Dodos, Local Natives and Passion Pit. The label has recently added a music publishing side as well, Frenchkiss Publishing. The company was acquired by The Orchard in September 2014. Dischord Records is a Washington, D.C.-based independent record label specializing in punk rock. The label is co-owned by Ian MacKaye and Jeff Nelson, who founded Dischord in 1980 to release ''Minor Disturbance'' by their band The Teen Idles.
