Julian Strøm
Julian Tidemann Strøm (February 24, 1901 – October 7, 1992) was a Norwegian actor and theater director. He is known as a pioneer of Norwegian puppet theater. Family Julian Strøm was the son of the artisan Julius Strøm and his wife Marie Kristine. He married the teacher Selma Hanna Johnsgård (1901–1989) in 1927. He was the father of the puppeteers Birgit Strøm and Elisabeth Strøm Henriksen, and the grandfather of the actress and director Camilla Strøm Henriksen. Career Strøm grew up in Kristiania (now Oslo) and studied acting. He performed as a student at the National Theatre in Oslo, and he made his debut at the private Mayol Theater in 1920. In the early 1920s, Strøm was engaged at the Stavanger Theater, where he staged ''Veslefrikk med fela'' (Little Freddy and His Fiddle) with children in all the roles. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. Oslo was founded as a city at the end of the Viking Age in 1040 under the name Ánslo, and established as a ''kaupstad'' or trading place in 1048 by Harald Hardrada. Drøbak
Drøbak is a List of cities in Norway, town and the centre of the municipality of Frogn, in Viken county, Norway. The city is located along the Oslofjord, and has 13,409 inhabitants. History Drøbak and Frogn was established as a parish on its own through a royal decree on 8 September 1823. It had been a part of Ås parish. Drøbak was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). It was merged with Frogn on 1 January 1962. Traditionally, Drøbak was the winter harbour of Norway's capital, Oslo, since in severe winters the fjord will freeze from outside Drøbak all the way up to Oslo. It had city status between 1842 and 1962, upon which point the municipality was merged into the rural municipality Frogn and lost its city status. Fjernsynsteatret was a department of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) which produced plays for television broadcasting. It opened in 1960 (after about a year of experimental operation), and operated until 1990, when a major reorganisation of NRK took place. Its first leader was Arild Brinchmann, who headed the theatre from its start until 1967. Later directors were Tore Breda Thoresen from 1967 to 1980, and Magne Bleness from 1980 to 1990.
