Julian Skar (born 1981) is a Norwegian composer and multi-media artist. Career Skar studied composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Asbjørn Schaathun, Rolf Wallin and Ivar Frounberg. Skar has also studied composition at the Universität der Künste in Berlin with Daniel Ott and Wolfgang Heiniger, focusing on new technology and music theatre. Asbjørn Schaathun (born 22 June 1961) is a Norway, Norwegian contemporary composer. Career Schaathun studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music and Royal College of Music in London and IRCAM in Paris. Rolf Wallin
Rolf Wallin (born 7 September 1957) is a Norwegian composer, trumpeter and avant-garde performance artist. Biography Wallin was born in Oslo, where he studied with Finn Mortensen and Olav Anton Thommessen. He later studied at the University of California where his teachers included Roger Reynolds and Vinko Globokar. Wallin’s music combines an intuitive freedom with a rigorous mathematical approach, such as use of fractal algorithms to construct melody and harmony, resulting in a music that often hints at the influence of Ligeti, Xenakis and Berio. In 1998 he was awarded the Nordic Council Music Prize. Daniel Ott
Daniel Ott (born 6 September 1960) is a Swiss composer. Career Born in Grub AR, Canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Ott graduated in 1980. Afterwards he worked as a teacher in the regions of Basel and Graubünden and worked in independent theatre groups. From 1983 to 1985, he studied theatre in Paris and London. From 1985 to 1990, he studied composition with Nicolaus A. Huber at the Folkwang University of the Arts and with Klaus Huber at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg. The Grieg Academy ( no, Griegakademiet) is a disputed historical term used to refer to the higher education music programs in Bergen, Norway (birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg), as well as various collaborations across music institutions in Bergen.
