Juhan Kunder
Juhan Kunder (26 December 1852 Holstre Parish, Viljandi County – 24 April 1888) was an Estonian poet, playwright, author of natural history textbooks, and folklore collector. From 1872 to 1875 he attended Tartu Teachers' Seminary. From 1873 he was a member of Estonian Students' Society. He was also a member of Society of Estonian Literati, being its deputy president between 1882 and 1888. He was also active in Alexander School movement. He did collaborations for several Estonian newspaper and magazine, including ''Postimees'', '' Sakala'', ''Valgus'', and '' Meelejahutaja''. Juhan Parts (born 27 August 1966) is an Estonian politician who was Prime Minister of Estonia from 2003 to 2005 and Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications from 2007 to 2014. Juhan Narma
Juhan Narma (until 29 July 1940 Nihtig or Nichtig; 26 October 1888 in Aluste, Kreis Pernau, Governorate of Livonia – 19 October 1942 in Tavda, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russian SFSR) was an Estonian politician. Biography Nihtig was born on Vainussaare farm near Aluste. He was among the founders of the Central Cooperative of Estonian Consumers (ETK) in 1917, and would serve as a member of the board of the ETK until 1935. He was also a member of the Estonian-Soviet Chamber of Commerce and of the Patriotic League, the only legal political party in Estonia from 1935. After leaving his positions in the ETK, he served as editor of the newspaper ''Uus Eesti'' in 1935–1940. On 21 June 1940, Nihtig was appointed Minister of Economic Affairs in Johannes Vares' cabinet after the occupation of the Baltic States by the Soviet Union. Juhan Jaagu Muks (7 July 1899 - 23 November 1983) was an Estonian artist and painter. Juhan Muks was born in Tuhalaane, Viljandi County, Estonia. He acquired a higher education abroad before returning to his native Estonia and following his fellow countrymen Adamson-Eric, Eduard Wiiralt, Lydia Mei, Kristjan Teder, Eduard Ole, and Felix Randel in popularizing the ''Neue Sachlichkeit'' (New Objectivity) art movement throughout Estonia in the 1920s. The group also initiated the tradition of art exhibitions throughout the country. Muks is best known for his paintings of rural Estonian landscapes. Juhan Mettis (born 19 June 1990) is an Estonian judoka. He was born in Tartu. In 2014 he graduated from the University of Tartu's Institute of Physical Education. He started his judo training in 1997, coached by Riina Tormis; later his coach was Andres Põhjala. He won silver medal at 2009 European Junior Judo Championships. Juhan Maaker ( – 21 September 1930) nicknamed ''Torupilli-Juss'' was an Estonian folk musician, a player of the Estonian bagpipe. He was considered one of the most popular players at the time called the king of bagpipe players. During his lifetime Juhan Maaker performed with great success in hundreds of concert halls and became popular all over Estonia and also in Finland. In 1927-28 he took part of five concert tours in Estonia organized by August Pulst, an activist in promoting folk music in cooperation with the Estonian Open-Air Museum Society giving all together 244 concerts. 36 pieces performed by Juhan Maakeri have been preserved and digitized from Phonograph wax cylinders found in the Estonian Literature museum. Juhan Luiga
Juhan Luiga (31 March 1873 – 19 October 1927) was an Estonian psychiatrist, physician, author, publicist, and politician. He was a member of I Riigikogu. Career Juhan Luiga was born in Ropka in 1873. He attended primary and secondary schools in Tartu. In 1899, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tartu. In 1904, he became one of the first Estonian psychiatrists, Doctor of Medicine. From 1899 until 1908, he worked as an assistant at the Nervous and Mental Diseases Clinic of the University of Tartu. From 1908 until 1927, he worked in private practice in Tallinn, as well as a city and school physician. During World War I, he worked as a military doctor. Juhan Liiv
Juhan Liiv ( – ) is one of Estonia's most famous poets and prose writers. Childhood Juhan (birth names Johannes) Liiv, the son of Benjamin and Marianna Liiv (née Pärn), was born on 30 April 1864, in Alatskivi Parish (now Peipsiääre Parish), in the Kreis Dorpat of the Governorate of Livonia, and grew up in Rupsi village, in Oja farm owned by his family. Juhan Leinberg
Juhan Leinberg (26 September 1812 – 28 August 1885), also known as prophet Maltsvet, was a founder of a religious sect named after him (the Maltsvetians) in Estonia. Juhan Leinberg was born in Norra Parish in Järvamaa. In his youth he was a farmer, miller, barkeeper and seller in Tallinn. In 1854 he started holding preachings in Northern Estonia and called on people to give up collecting wealth. A short imprisonment in 1858 increased his popularity, the number of his followers reached 200-300 families. In 1860 Leinberg started to promote re-establishing to the Crimea, going there himself in February 1861.
