Juan Carlos Valenzuela Hernández (born 15 May 1984) is a Mexican former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Defender (association football), centre-back. He is popularly known by his nickname "Topo". Club career Atlas Valenzuela came up from the CF Atlas, Atlas youth system, debuting in Clausura 2003 against future club Estudiantes Tecos, Tecos UAG. América In Clausura 2008 he was acquired by Tecos where his performance arouse the interest of Club América and the Mexico national football team, Mexico national team. Valenzuela made his debut for América against Chivas in the 2009 InterLiga. 2009 Gold Cup
The 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the tenth edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup competition, and the twentieth soccer championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF). It was played from July 3 to 26, 2009 in the United States. This competition was the fourth tournament without guests from other confederations. Mexico won their fifth Gold Cup, and eighth CONCACAF Championship overall, after beating the United States 5–0 in the final.
