Josephine Wapakabulo
Josephine Wapakabulo, also Josephine Wapakabulo Thomas, is an electrical engineer and business executive. She served as the founding chief executive officer of Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC). She was appointed in June 2016, being the first person to serve in that position. She resigned as UNOC CEO, with effect from 13 August 2019, "to focus on her family and new opportunities". Background and education She was born in 1976, in Arusha, Tanzania. She is the daughter of Angelina Wapakhabulo and the late James Wapakhabulo. She studied at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, as an electronic and electrical engineer, obtaining a BEng, an MSc and a PhD at the same university. Angelina Wapakhabulo
Angelina Chogo Wapakhabulo (widely known as Mama Angelina in Uganda) (born March 24, 1949) was Uganda's High Commissioner to Kenya. She is a founding member and co-chair of the United Way Board. Wapakhabulo is a community activist and a social worker. Career As the Program Coordinator of the Market Vendors AIDS Project (MAVAP), she transformed Kampala's markets into a one stop shopping where vendors and customers do trade but are also encouraged to check their HIV status and get treatment. Wapakhabulo and United Way President and CEO Brian Gallagher represented the United Way at the White House Summit on Malaria in Washington, D.C. on 14 December 2006. The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAOU), also known as the Uganda National Petroleum Authority, is governmental organisation that regulates the petroleum industry in Uganda, the third-largest economy in the East African Community. The Uganda Oil Refinery is a planned crude oil refinery in Uganda. Location The refinery will be built on a piece of land in Kabaale Township, Buseruka Sub-county, Hoima District, Western Region, near the international border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, along the eastern shores of Lake Albert.
