Jorre Verstraeten
Jorre Verstraeten (born 4 December 1997) is a Belgian judoka. He won one of the bronze medals in the men's 60 kg event at the European Judo Championships in 2020 and 2022. He also won one of the bronze medals in the men's 60kg event at the 2019 European Games held in Minsk, Belarus. Career Verstraeten won one of the bronze medals in the boys' 55kg event at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics held in Nanjing, China. In his bronze medal match he defeated Gavin Mogopa of Botswana. He also competed in the mixed team event. In 2017, he competed in the men's 60kg event at the European Judo Championships held in Warsaw, Poland. A few months later, he won one of the bronze medals in the men's 60 kg event at the Judo Grand Prix Cancún held in Cancún, Mexico. In 2018, Verstraeten was eliminated by Eric Takabatake of Brazil in his second match in the men's 60 kg event at the World Judo Championships held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Eric Takabatake (born 9 January 1991) is a Brazilian judoka. He is a two-time gold medalist in the men's 60 kg event at the Pan American Judo Championships. He competed in the men's 60 kg event at the 2014 World Judo Championships held in Chelyabinsk, Russia. He was eliminated in his third match by Beslan Mudranov of Russia. In 2020, he won the gold medal in the men's 60 kg event at the Pan American Judo Championships held in Guadalajara, Mexico. Judo At The 2014 Summer Youth Olympics – Mixed Team
The Mixed Team tournament in Judo at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics was held on August 21 at the Longjiang Gymnasium. Athletes of all weight classes were split into groups of 7 or 8 athletes in one of 13 teams. The tournament bracket consisted of a single-elimination contest where the team with the most wins moves to the next round culminating in a gold match. There were no repechages in this event, the two losing semi-finalists received bronze medals.
