Jordi Pericot
Jordi Pericot i Canaleta (born November 16, 1931, in El Masnou, Barcelona, Spain) is a Spanish plastic artist and designer. Biography Brother of the painter and set designer Santiago Pericot i Canaleta and son of the teacher Maria Canaleta i Abellà, he studied at the Normal School of Barcelona and at the Faculty of Letters and at the School of Fine Arts in Toulouse (France). He graduated in philosophy at the University of Barcelona and French language at the University of Toulouse. He also obtained the title of doctor in art history at the University of Barcelona. In 1958 he moved to France, where he introduced himself to experimental film techniques and began his artistic career. Between 1960 and 1967 he lived in Paris and dedicated himself to art, teaching and experimental cinema. At the end of the sixties, it prioritized the most theoretical and teaching research field. El Masnou
El Masnou (; ) is a municipality in the province of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the coast between Montgat and Premià de Mar, to the north-east of the city of Barcelona, in the ''comarca'' (county) of el Maresme. The town is both a tourist centre and a dormitory town in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area. Josep Maria Mestres Quadreny (4 March 1929 – 18 January 2021) was a Spanish composer. Biography He studied sciences at the University of Barcelona, taking lessons in composition from Cristòfor Taltabull. In 1968 he started the Catalan Group of Contemporary Music (Conjunt Català de Música Contemporània), and in 1976 the Catalan Instrumental Group (Grup Instrumental Català) with Carles Santos. He also founded the Phonos Laboratory of Electroacoustic Music in 1973. His output included incidental music for theatre and cinema, musicals, ballet, opera and instrumental music. He also collaborated with visual artists, including Joan Miró, Antoni Tàpies and Joan Brossa. In addition to his compositional activities, he taught at the Darmstadt New Music Courses and the Latin American Course of Contemporary Music in Brazil.
