Jonsered
Jonsered () is a locality situated in Partille Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden with 930 inhabitants in 2010. Jonsered is an old, traditional industrial community by the Säve river outside Gothenburg in Sweden. Jonsered's factories were established here in 1834 by the Scotsman William Gibson (1783–1857). One of the first major products was sail canvas. In 1856 the first Swedish state railway was inaugurated between Gothenburg and Jonsered later being built all the way up to Stockholm. Jonsered was dominated by the Gibson family until the 1920s but the company remained the driving force of the community, being the main landowner until the 1970s. By the 1880s the manufacture of wood processing machinery had started, leading towards the products Jonsered manufactures today. Jonsereds IF
Jonsereds IF is a Swedish football club located in Jonsered, about east of Gothenburg (Göteborg). The club was founded on 2 May 1923 following the merger of Jonsereds GoIF and Bokedalens IF. Jonsereds IF currently plays in Division 2 Norra Götaland which is the fourth tier of Swedish football. They play their home matches at the Jonsereds IP. Jonsereds Fabrikers AB
Jonsered is a brand of chainsaws and other equipment, owned by Husqvarna AB. History The Scotsman William Gibson, who had immigrated to Sweden in his youth, founded a textile mill in 1832 in Jonsered. His sons later took over the company that remained in the family's control until the 1920s. In 1872 the company became a limited company, Jonsered Fabriker AB, diversifying its textile output. By the 1880s it was producing and exporting woodworking machines along with its textiles, with one notable production being canvas. The Jonsered sailing canvas was very well known in the 1800s in Sweden and gave the company a good reputation. Another important textile product were fire hoses (until 1975), many of them still in use today. Torbjörn Nilsson
Torbjörn Anders Nilsson (born 9 July 1954) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a striker. Considered one of the best Swedish footballers of all time, he is best remembered for his time with IFK Göteborg with which he won two Swedish championship titles, the 1981–82 UEFA Cup, and reached the semi-finals of the 1985–86 European Cup. He also represented PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands and 1. FC Kaiserslautern in Germany during a career that spanned between 1971 and 1990. Partille Municipality
Partille Municipality (''Partille kommun'') is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in Partille, which constitutes a part of the contiguously built-up Gothenburg urban area. The municipality is by area one of the smallest in Sweden with only 59.35 km². The parish Partille was made a rural municipality, when the first local government acts came into force in 1863. Territorially it has not been affected by the nationwide municipal reforms carried out during the 20th century. It has retained its area, but it has developed into a suburb of Gothenburg.
