Joma Gamboa
Jomarie Gamboa (born April 25, 1973, in Bacolod) is a retired boxer from the Philippines who was a former minimumweight champion. Professional career He made his professional debut in 1993. He fought for his first world title in 1996 but was stopped by thai fighter Saman Sorjaturong. He was unsuccessful a further two times in world title fights before winning an interim title fight against Satoru Abe. On 20 August 2000, he fought full champion Noel Arambulet and won on points after Noel was stripped of the belt for failing to make weight. Gamboa ended up losing his belt in his first title defense in December of the same year to Keitaro Hoshino. In 2004 he ended his career. After two more unsuccessful title challenges Gamboa eventually retired in 2004. Mactan–Benito Ebuen Air Base, originally known as Mactan Air Base, is an active military airbase of the Philippine Air Force (PAF). It is located on the island of Mactan, Cebu, in the Visayas region of the Philippines. It shares its single runway with the civilian Mactan–Cebu International Airport. Light flyweight, also known as junior flyweight or super strawweight, is a weight class in boxing. Professional boxing The weight limit at light flyweight in professional boxing is 108 pounds (49 kilograms). When New York legalized boxing in 1920, the law stipulated a "junior flyweight" class, with a weight limit of 99 pounds. When the National Boxing Association was formed in 1921, it also recognized this weight class. However, on January 19, 1922, the NBA decided to withdraw recognition of the junior flyweight division. On December 31, 1929, the New York State Athletic Commission also abolished the junior flyweight class. No champion had been crowned in this division prior to its abolition. Carlos Murillo (boxer)
Carlos Ernesto Murillo Duarte (born December 10, 1970) is a Panamanian former professional boxer who competed from 1990 to 2005. He held the World Boxing Association light flyweight title in 1996. Professional career Murillo turned professional in 1990 and amassed a record of 32-2 before he beat Choi Hi-yong to win the WBA light flyweight title. He would go on to lose the title four months later Keiji Yamaguchi.
