John McGrath (Tipperary Hurler)
John McGrath (born 28 July 1994) is an Irish hurler and Gaelic footballer who plays for Tipperary Senior Championship club Loughmore–Castleiney and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a right corner-forward. Playing career Our Lady's Secondary School McGrath first came to prominence as a hurler with Our Lady's Secondary School in Templemore. He played in every grade of hurling before eventually joining the college's senior hurling team. On 24 February 2013, McGrath top scored with 0-05 for the team when they suffered a 2–21 to 1–11 defeat by Dungarvan Colleges in the Harty Cup final. University of Limerick As a student at the University of Limerick, McGrath joined the senior hurling team during his second year. Loughmore
Loughmore, officially Loughmoe ( ; or ''Luachma''), is a village in County Tipperary, Ireland. The village is best known for Loughmoe Castle, seat of the Barons of Loughmoe. It is one half of the parish of Loughmore-Castleiney in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly. Loughmoe gives its name to the civil parish of Loughmoe West which is in the historical barony of Eliogarty. Toponymy The village's Irish-language name ''Luach Maigh'' (earlier: ''Luach-mhagh'') means "reward-field". Today's ''Loughmore'' – which would correspond to Irish ''Loch Mór'' ("great lake") – is the result of a mistake by British mapmakers of the 19th century. The Purcell family's Loughmoe Castle, near the village, retains a more accurate and older version of the name. 2010 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship
The 2010 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 80th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 10 April and ended on 5 September 2010. Galway entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Kilkenny in the All-Ireland semi-final. On 5 September 2010, Kilkenny won the championship after a 2-10 to 0-14 defeat of Clare in the All-Ireland final at Croke Park. Clonmel Commercials
Clonmel Commercials GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association Gaelic football club located in the town of Clonmel in County Tipperary, Ireland. The club is part of the South Division of Tipperary GAA. They have been Tipperary Senior Football champions on twenty occasions since their formation in 1934. History Affiliated to the GAA in 1934, the club's first taste of county success came in the form of a minor title in 1935. A County Junior title followed in 1940, before the first of the club's 15 Senior titles in 1944. Arguably the club's greatest achievement was winning three county titles in a row in 1965, 1966 and 1967. The captain on all three teams was Brian O'Callaghan. The club's two county titles of the nineties came in 1990 and 1994. Moyle Rovers GAA are a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Tipperary, Ireland. History The club derives its name from the river Moyle that runs through the Parish and joins the Anner. The club was founded in 1928. Previous to this since the 1800s various teams represented the parish in local leagues most often the Clonmel League. Kilsheelan GAA club have recorded games played against Powerstown in the early 1900s. The 1990s Football The club's grounds, Monroe, was officially opened in 1990. Soon after in 1991 they won their first South senior football title and in 1995 their first ever County senior football championship final win. The 2016 Tipperary Senior Football Championship was the 126th edition of the Tipperary GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Tipperary, Ireland. The tournament consisted of 16 teams (15 clubs and 1 divisional side) with the winner going on to represent Tipperary in the Munster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship began with a Group stage before proceeding to a knock-out format. Clonmel Commercials were the defending champions after they defeated Moyle Rovers in the previous years final, however they relinquished their crown to Loughmore-Castleiney at the Semi-Final stage this season. 2014 Tipperary Senior Football Championship
The 2014 Tipperary Senior Football Championship began in the summer of 2014. Loughmore-Castleiney were the defending champions after winning their 12th title in 2013. The final in front of a crowd of 1,550 between Loughmore Castleiney and Cahir which was played on 21 December in Cashel and finished in a draw with the replay fixed for 26 December. Cian Hennessy's scored the equalising point for Loughmore in the final minute after Benny Hickey had scored from a free in the 54th minute to put Cahir in front. Cahir had led 1-6 to 2-2 at half time. Loughmore Castleiney defeated Cahir by 0-9 to 2-2 in the replay on 26 December. Thurles Sarsfields is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "Mid-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The 2014 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 124th staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. Tipperary Senior Football Championship
The Tipperary Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Gaelic football clubs in Tipperary. The winners of the Tipperary Championship qualify to represent their county in the Munster Senior Club Football Championship, the winners of which advance to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. History Over the decades, the Tipperary championship has been dominated by teams from South Tipperary, with Fethard and Clonmel Commercials leading the roll of honour, though Loughmore-Castleiney from Mid Tipperary strongly challenge and were the 2014 champions. Kilruane MacDonagh's were North Tipperary's last club team to be victorious in 1975, while teams from West Tipperary have also figured in the honours list, including Aherlow who won their first championship in 2006.
