John Cassidy (magician)
John Cassidy is a professional comedian, magician, and balloon artist who holds several Guinness World Record speed records for balloon sculpting. In November 2007, Cassidy inflated and sculpted a record 747 balloons in one hour. He secured another record when he created thirteen balloon sculptures within one minute. John has appeared numerous times on television as either a stand-up comedian, magician or as a Guinness Book of Records celebrity. The Society of American Magicians (S.A.M.) is the oldest fraternal magic organization in the world. Its purpose is "to advance, elevate, and preserve magic as a performing art, to promote harmonious fellowship throughout the world of magic, and to maintain and improve ethical standards in the field of magic." A cymbal-banging monkey toy (better known as Jolly Chimp) is a mechanical depiction of a monkey holding a cymbal in each hand. When activated it repeatedly bangs its cymbals together and, in some cases, bobs its head, chatters, screeches, grins, and more. There are both traditional wind-up versions as well as updated battery-operated cymbal-banging monkeys. The cymbal-banging monkey toy is an example of Singerie.
