John Bowles (darts Player)
John Bowles (born 26 May 1967) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He has twice come through Q School to play on the tour. Career Bowles made his television debut at the 2011 UK Open at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton as a pub qualifier. He defeated Peter Manley, Devon Petersen, Justin Pipe and Steve Beaton before losing 4–9 to Dave Chisnall in the last 16 earning himself £4,000 in the process. That year was the furthest a pub qualifier has gone in the history of the UK Open sharing the feat with Andy Boul. He won a two-year PDC Pro Tour card in 2012 via Q School. His best results of 2012 were last 16 defeats in the second UK Open Qualifier and the sixth Players Championship, losing to Vincent van der Voort 5–6 on both occasions. 2013 UK Open
The 2013 Speedy Services UK Open was a darts tournament staged by the Professional Darts Corporation. It was the eleventh year of the UK Open tournament where, following numerous regional qualifying heats throughout Britain, players competed in a single elimination tournament to be crowned champion. The tournament was held at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, England, between 6–9 June 2013, and has the nickname, "the FA Cup of darts" as a random draw is staged after each round until the final. Phil Taylor won the title, defeating Andy Hamilton 11–4 in the final to claim his fifth and final UK Open title. The 2013 UK Open was the last UK Open to be held at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, and was the last UK Open to be broadcast on Sky Sports in June. Kim Huybrechts
Kim Huybrechts (born 16 November 1985) is a Belgian professional darts player currently playing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He made the final of a major TV event, the 2012 Players Championship Finals, losing to Phil Taylor 13-6, as well as making the final of the 2013 PDC World Cup of Darts with his brother Ronny. He has also achieved the perfect nine-dart finish on TV, doing so in the 2014 Grand Slam of Darts against Michael van Gerwen in the quarter-finals, and has appeared in the Premier League on two occasions. Brendan Dolan
Brendan Gabriel Dolan (born 2 August 1973) is a Northern Irish professional darts player from County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is best known for becoming the first player to hit a nine-dart finish in a "double-to-start" event (Where a player must hit a double, with a maximum value of 40, to begin play, as opposed to the traditional free choice, 60 point maximum first dart), which he did at the 2011 World Grand Prix. Mervyn King (darts Player)
Mervyn King (born 15 March 1966) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments. Nicknamed The King, he has reached seven PDC major TV finals and reached a peak of No. 4 in the PDC Order of Merit. Early life King first took up the game at the age of 12, playing with an old rolled-cardboard dartboard given to him by his father. His father insisted that he played darts using competition distance and height. By the age of 13, he had ambitions to become a professional player as he was playing county darts at Superleague level. 2013 PDC Pro Tour
The 2013 PDC Pro Tour was a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). They were the Professional Dart Players Association Players Championships, the UK Open Qualifiers, and the European Tour events. This year there were 32 PDC Pro Tour events – 16 Players Championships, 8 UK Open Qualifiers, and 8 European Tour events. Prize money Prize money for each UK Open Qualifier was £34,600, unchanged from 2012. Jamie Caven
Jamie Robert Caven (born 10 March 1976) is an English former professional darts player who plays in British Darts Organisation (BDO) events. He has won seven events on the PDC Pro Tour, including two in the same weekend in May 2013. Caven was also the World Youth Masters champion in 1993. Early life Caven has no sight in his right eye, after being stung by a bee when he was 18 months old. At the age of 17, Caven won the World Youth Masters. When he was 20, tumours were found in his pancreas resulting in its removal and his requirement to have four insulin injections a day for the rest of his life. Carlos RodrÃguez (darts Player)
Carlos José RodrÃguez Sequera (born January 28, 1979) is a Spanish former professional darts player. Darts career A noted soft-tip player, RodrÃguez's first foray into the professional steel-tip darts scene was participating in the two PDPA Players Championship events in Gibraltar in January 2007; in the latter of these he placed in the last 16. Two months later, he would win the Gibraltar Open. RodrÃguez then attempted to qualify for the BDO World Championship in November but failed, and in the same month he failed to make any headway in the World Masters. In 2008 he decided to join the Professional Dart Players Association, enabling him to play in PDC events. Stuart Kellett (born 12 August 1981) is a former English darts player. BDO career Kellett reached the last 16 of the 2007 Winmau World Masters, having beaten Andy Fordham among others on the way to the televised stages. He lost 1-3 in sets to the then BDO world champion Martin Adams. He also qualified for the 2008 Zuiderduin Masters, losing both of his group games to Mareno Michels and Darryl Fitton. In 2010, Kellett won both the Scottish Open and the Antwerp Open. His good run of form helped him to qualify for the 2010 Winmau World Masters as the second seed.
