Johan Badendyck
Johan Badendyck (28 March 1902 – 19 April 1973) was a Norwegian long-distance runner. He was born in Kristiania, and represented the club IL i BUL. He competed in the 3000 metres team race at the 1924 Summer Olympics, along with teammates Haakon Jansen, Nils Andersen and Hans Gundhus. He became Norwegian champion in the 10,000 metres in 1926 and 1932, also collecting silver in 1927 and bronze in 1924 and 1929. He also became cross-country champion in 1927 and 1930 with a silver in 1923. In the 5000 metres his best result was bronze in 1926, 1927 and 1932. In August 1927 he broke the Norwegian 10,000 metres record. Running in 31:41.7 minutes at Østerbro stadion, he overcame Alf Halstvedt's old record by fourteen seconds. He lost the record in 1933 to Georg Braathe. Badendyck's record for the hour run was much more lasting. Having run 17.789 metres in one hour in Stockholm in 1926, the record was not beaten until 1953 when Jacob Kjersem ran 18.093 metres. During the ... Østerbro Stadium
Østerbro Stadium is a combined football and athletics stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is the home of the football clubs Boldklubben af 1893 and BK Skjold and it is also the home stadium of the athletics clubs Københavns Idræts Forening and Sparta. Oslo Idrettslag is a Norwegian multi-sports club from Oslo, with sections for swimming, speed skating, figure skating and athletics. History It was founded on 3 September 1893 as Kristiania Idrætsforening, partly on the ruins of the clubs ''Dovre'', ''Kristiania SF'' and ''SF Ørnen''. The main sports were athletics, speed skating and Nordic skiing. Its first sports field was at Klosterengen in Gamle Oslo, later a speed skating track at Frognerjordet. In 1907 a field at Bislett was secured for the future Bislett stadion, by the club's foremost administrator Martinus Lørdahl. The club changed its name to Oslo Idrettslag after the city Kristiania in 1924 changed its name to Oslo. The club acquired a sports cabin at Kolsåstoppen in Bærum in 1916. Bærum Sportsklubb is a Norwegian association football club founded on 26 March 1910. The men's team is currently playing in the Norwegian Second Division, after being relegated from the 1. divisjon in 2015. The club comes from Sandvika, the administrative centre of the municipality Bærum. The club was formed as ''Grane FK'', but quickly changed its name to ''Grane SK'' to include different sporting codes. The club changed its name to ''IL Mode'' in 1946 after a merger with workers' sports team ''Sandvika AIL''. It took its current name in 1969. Bislett Stadium ( no, Bislett stadion) is a sports stadium in Oslo, Norway. Bislett is Norway's most well known sports arena internationally, with 15 speed skating world records and more than 50 track and field world records having been set here. The original stadium was demolished in 2004 and construction of a new stadium was completed by the summer of 2005. The New Bislett Stadium was designed by C.F. Møller Architects. History Bislett Stadium lies on the site of a 19th-century brick works, which was bought by the Municipality of Kristiania (Oslo) in 1898, and turned into a sports field in 1908. The merchant, speed skater, gymnast and sports organizer Martinus Lørdahl was instrumental in facilitating the construction of the first bleachers, begun in 1917 and completed in 1922 along with the new club house. Jakob Kjersem (2 August 1925 – 11 June 2009) was a Norwegian long-distance runner. At the 1948 Summer Olympics he finished twelfth in the 10,000 metres final, and at the 1952 Summer Olympics he placed 24th in the marathon. He never won the 10,000 m Norwegian title, placing second in 1948, 1949, 1951 and 1956. His rivals were Martin Stokken and Øistein Saksvik. He also won medals in the 5000 metres and the marathon.
