Jinan West Railway Station
The Jinan West railway station () is a high-speed railway station in Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, People's Republic of China. Overview It is served by the Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway and Shijiazhuang-Jinan High Speed Railway which mainly serve Beijing to Shanghai passengers, and was opened for high-speed rail service on 30 June 2011. New services to Ningbo, Fuzhou, Wuhan and Changsha were added on 1 July 2013. The West Railway station is located about 20 kilometers to the west of the city centre of Jinan. CRH Trains from Beijing to Qingdao, Yantai and Rongcheng call at the central Jinan railway station instead, passing through Jinan West without stopping. Some CRH trains from eastern Shandong province are diverted to terminate at this station and Jinan East railway station (Jinandong) in order to prevent the relatively small Jinan railway station from overloading during rush hours. Jinan Metro (), also known as Jinan Rail Transit () is a rapid transit system serving Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, China. Lines Line 1 Line 1 runs north–south in the western part of the city. The line began operating on 1 April 2019, and cost CN¥12 billion to build. Line 2 Line 2 is in length, including a -long underground section. The line began operating on 26 March 2021. Line 3 Line 3 (Phase 1) is long. It is completely underground. Jinan railway station () is a railway station in Jinan, Shandong, China. It is on both the Beijing-Shanghai Railway and Qingdao-Jinan Passenger Railway. It accommodates intercity High Speed services towards destinations as Qingdao, Qingdao North, Yantai, Weihai, Rongcheng and Longkou. Old Jinan stations The predecessor of the current station was constructed in 1912. Serving the Jinpu Railway (Reorganised as part of Beijing-Shanghai Railway in 2007), it was designed by German architect Hermann Fischer. It was controversially demolished and rebuilt in 1992.
