Jim Salvati
Jim Salvati (born 1957) is an American painter of contemporary figurative fine art. Salvati works in the film industry as a visual concept designer and cinematic artist. He is also in a select group of painters for Disney Fine Art. His clients include Disney, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, 20th Century Studios, Radio City Music Hall, Arena Stage, the Ahmanson Theater, and Verve Records. He won the Washington Post award of excellence for his work with the Kennedy Center Honorees. Salvati is also responsible for many of the finished paintings in the "Harry Potter" film series. He has also illustrated books such as '' The War of the Worlds'', ''The Art of War'' and ''Frankenstein''. He teaches at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. ''Dollman'' is a 1991 American science fiction action film directed by Albert Pyun and starring Tim Thomerson as the space cop Brick Bardo, also known as "Dollman"; he is only 13 inches (33 cm) tall. Bardo is equipped with his "Kruger Blaster", which is the most powerful handgun in the universe. The film also stars Jackie Earle Haley as Bardo's human enemy, Braxton Red. The production design gives the viewers a sense of the time period, the plot location, and character actions and feelings. Working directly with the director, cinematographer, and producer, production designers have a key creative role in the creation of motion pictures and television.
