Jim Gurfein
Jim Gurfein (born January 4, 1961) is a former professional tennis player from the U.S. Gurfein reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 96 in September 1983. Early years Gurfein was born in New York City, and he is Jewish. Gurfein grew up in Great Neck, New York. He attended Great Neck North High School and Stanford University. While on tour, Gurfein kept a residence in Atlanta, Georgia. Tennis career Gurfein was runner-up of the 1981 NCAA singles tennis championship, falling to Stanford University teammate Tim Mayotte, and was an All-America, All American that year with teammates Mayotte, Scott Bondurant, and Scott Davis (tennis), Scott Davis. He was a member of the U.S. Junior Davis Cup team in 1981. In 1982, he won a doubles title in Cairo with Drew Gitlin. Christophe Roger-Vasselin
Christophe Roger-Vasselin (; born 8 July 1957) is a French former professional tennis player. Roger-Vasselin won two doubles titles during his professional career. Notably in his singles career, he reached the French Open semifinals in 1983, beating No. 1 seed Jimmy Connors in the quarterfinals, but lost to eventual champion Yannick Noah. The right-hander reached his highest singles Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP ranking on 20 June 1983, when he became world No. 29. In the autumn of 1977 he briefly played with a double-strung racket, the so-called spaghetti racket, with which he reached the final of the Porée Cup in Paris. The racket was banned shortly afterwards. His son Édouard Roger-Vasselin followed him into the profession and is currently active on the ATP Tour, and went on to win the French Open in doubles in 2014. Anders Per Järryd (; born 13 July 1961) is a former professional tennis player from Sweden. During his career he won eight Grand Slam doubles titles (three French Open, two Wimbledon, two US Open, one Australian Open), reached the world No. 1 doubles ranking, and achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 5. Järryd was born in Lidköping, Västra Götaland. While growing up he also played bandy in Lidköpings AIK. Career Järryd turned professional in 1980. The ATP Bordeaux is a defunct men's tennis tournament that was held annually under variations of the name Grand Prix Passing Shot and was part of the Grand Prix tennis circuit tour from (1979-1989) it then became an ATP Tour event until 1995. Mike Bauer (born June 29, 1959) is a retired American tour professional tennis player. Bauer won three singles and nine top-tier doubles titles during his career. He reached a career high singles ranking of world No. 29 in November 1984. Bobby Banck
Bobby Banck (born May 16, 1964) is an American tennis coach and former professional player. Banck, who grew up in Buffalo, New York, was a national 14-and-under hard court champion. Another Buffalo product Jimmy Arias was in his age group and the pair combined to win a national doubles championship. Trained at the Nick Bollitieri academy in Florida from 1980, Banck received a scholarship to the University of Arkansas and played there for two years. In 1986 he turned professional. He appeared in the main draw of the 1987 WCT Tournament of Champions and was beaten in the second round by Slobodan Živojinović. Banck starting his coaching career with Jimmy Arias and later coached Aaron Krickstein. On the women's tour he has coached Mary Joe Fernández, Mary Pierce and Monica Seles. Charles "Bud" Cox (born April 11, 1960) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Career Cox played collegiate tennis while at Auburn University. He competed in the singles draw of a Grand Slam three times, but was unable to progress past the first round. In doubles he fared better, making the third round of the 1985 Wimbledon Championships and 1987 US Open. He was a mixed doubles quarter-finalist at the 1984 French Open, with Wendy Prausa. On the Grand Prix tour he had his best performance in 1987 when he won the doubles title at Saint-Vincent (partnering Michael Fancutt).
