Bud Cox
Charles "Bud" Cox (born April 11, 1960) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Career Cox played collegiate tennis while at Auburn University. He competed in the singles draw of a Grand Slam three times, but was unable to progress past the first round. In doubles he fared better, making the third round of the 1985 Wimbledon Championships and 1987 US Open. He was a mixed doubles quarter-finalist at the 1984 French Open, with Wendy Prausa. On the Grand Prix tour he had his best performance in 1987 when he won the doubles title at Saint-Vincent (partnering Michael Fancutt). It was his third Grand Prix final, having been runner-up at the same event the previous year and at Columbus in 1984. Massimo Cierro (born 7 May 1964) is a former professional tennis player from Italy. Career Cierro never won a Grand Slam match. He lost to 15th seed Scott Davis at 1985 US Open, Patrick McEnroe in the 1992 Australian Open and Henri Leconte at the 1992 French Open, all in straight sets. Pavel Složil (born 29 December 1955) is a former professional tennis player from Czechoslovakia. Složil enjoyed most of his tennis success while playing doubles. During his career, he won 32 doubles titles and finished runner-up an additional 29 times, including at the French Open in. Slozil and his partner, Renata Tomanová (also from Czechoslovakia), won the 1978 French Open mixed-doubles championship, defeating Virginia Ruzici (Romania) and Patrice Dominguez (France). The mixed doubles championship was an important event in those days, contested by top players, with John McEnroe and Mary Carillo having won the year before. Stanley Roger Smith (born December 14, 1946) is an American former professional tennis player. Smith is best known to non-tennis players as the namesake of a popular brand of tennis shoes. Alexander "Sandy" Mayer (born April 5, 1952) is a former tennis player from the United States. He won twelve titles in singles and twenty-four titles in doubles in his professional career, and was part of the winning tennis squad at Stanford University in 1973. Career Mayer was born in Flushing, New York. He entered Stanford University in 1970. In 1972, Mayer and Roscoe Tanner won the NCAA doubles championship, and the Stanford team finished second in the NCAA tournament, behind Trinity University. Bobby Banck
Bobby Banck (born May 16, 1964) is an American tennis coach and former professional player. Banck, who grew up in Buffalo, New York, was a national 14-and-under hard court champion. Another Buffalo product Jimmy Arias was in his age group and the pair combined to win a national doubles championship. Trained at the Nick Bollitieri academy in Florida from 1980, Banck received a scholarship to the University of Arkansas and played there for two years. In 1986 he turned professional. He appeared in the main draw of the 1987 WCT Tournament of Champions and was beaten in the second round by Slobodan Živojinović. Banck starting his coaching career with Jimmy Arias and later coached Aaron Krickstein. On the women's tour he has coached Mary Joe Fernández, Mary Pierce and Monica Seles.
