Jim Foster (musician)
James Edwin Foster (born August 28, 1950) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, guitarist, and harmonica player. Biography Born in Victoria, British Columbia, Foster is best known for his Canadian singles "X-Ray Eyes" and his work with his band, Fosterchild, which existed from 1976 to 1980. In 1993, Foster joined the band One Horse Blue. Foster has had success in the adult contemporary, country, and rock-music fields, writing such songs as "Here We Go Again" for Patricia Conroy (1993), and the Western Canadian Music Award The ''Western Canadian Music Awards'' (WCMAs) are an annual awards event for music in the western portion of Canada. One Horse Blue
One Horse Blue was a Canadian country rock music group that existed from 1975 to 1981 and, as reconstituted, from 1988 to 1995, releasing five albums. History The band first formed as Pickens in 1975 in Edmonton, Alberta, with members Winston Quelch (guitar), Bob Burghardt (guitar), bassist Randy Lloyd and drummer Ron (Rocko) Vaugeois. In 1977, the band asked Ian Oscar of Stash to join on vocals. When Oscar joined, the band changed their name to One Horse Blue after the 1974 Poco song from the album ''Cantamos''. Guitarist Michael Shellard came on board shortly after, and the band began touring across Canada. Patricia Conroy (born January 30, 1964) is a Canadian singer-songwriter. In her career, she has released five studio albums, and one compilation album. She has also released 25 singles, including the ''RPM'' Country Tracks number one singles "Somebody's Leavin'" (1994) and "What Else Can I Do" (1995). As a songwriter, Conroy has written singles for several artists including Steel Magnolia ("Just By Being You (Halo and Wings)"), Emerson Drive ("She Always Gets What She Wants"), and Lady A (" Champagne Night"). Murray Edward McLauchlan, (born 30 June 1948) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist, and harmonica player. He is best known for his Canadian hits "Farmer's Song," "Whispering Rain," and "Down by the Henry Moore". Early life McLauchlan was born in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland; he immigrated to Canada with his family when he was five years old. He grew up in suburban Toronto. At 17, he began playing at coffeehouses in Toronto's Yorkville area and later attended Central Tech as an art student before deciding to become a full-time musician. Career In the 1960s McLauchlan moved to New York City, but had little success in promoting his musical career there.
