Jia Morado
Julia Melissa "Jia" Morado-De Guzman (born May 10, 1995) is a Filipino volleyball player. She was a member of the Ateneo Lady Eagles and was team's captain in the UAAP Season 79 Women's Volleyball tournament. In 2018 Jia was also a member of the Philippines Women's National Volleyball Team. Career She also played in the 2012 Palarong Pambansa and led the NCR Team to a championship, where she also won the Best Setter award. Morado was the setter of the Philippine team for the 2015 Asian Women's U23 Volleyball Championship and in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games. She was Ateneo Lady Eagles team captain for the UAAP Season 79. On May 6, 2017, Morado announced that she will not be returning to the Ateneo Lady Eagles in UAAP Season 80. On June 17, 2017, ABS-CBN Sports announced that Morado will join the Creamline Cool Smashers as part of the team's build up for the inaugural Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference. 2015 Asian Women's U23 Volleyball Championship
The 2015 Asian Women's U23 Volleyball Championship was held on 1 to 9 May 2015 in Pasig, Philippines. It was the inaugural edition of the tournament. The tournament served as the Asian qualifiers for the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship held in Ankara, Turkey which the top two ranked teams qualified for the world championship. China won the tournament and Liu Yanhan was the most valuable player. The tournament was organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation, in association with Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. UST Golden Tigresses
The UST Golden Tigresses are the intercollegiate women’s volleyball team of the UST Growling Tigers representing the University of Santo Tomas in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. Their head coach as of April 17, 2015 is former Golden Spiker Kungfu Reyes who is also the coach of their junior girls’ volleyball program. They are one of the UAAP’s winningest teams with 16 championships, the last coming in 2010 against the De La Salle Lady Spikers. The Tigresses swept their elimination games in 1988, 1993 and 1996 and were declared automatic champions in each of those years. They also have the third most Final Four appearances with 13, behind La Salle’s 18 and the FEU Lady Tamaraws’ 15. 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference
The 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference was the fourth conference of the Premier Volleyball League (31st conference of the former Shakey's V-League). Conference will start on April 27, 2018 with a Grand Fans Day at the Trinoma Activity Center, Quezon City, 9 days before its opening ceremonies and games on May 6, 2018 at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan City, Philippines. PLDT returns as PayMaya after two years of absence in the league and newcomer teams, Tacloban Fighting Warays and Petro Gazz Angels are expected to join the league. Ateneo–La Salle Rivalry
The school rivalry between Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University began when both educational institutions participated in the National Collegiate Athletic Association of the Philippines (NCAA) and has carried over to the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) where both universities compete in currently. Before UAAP Season 84, the Ateneo men's varsity team was known as the Ateneo Blue Eagles, the women's varsity team as the Ateneo Lady Eagles, and the high school team as the Ateneo Blue Eaglets. In May 2022, Ateneo de Manila University decided to unify student-athletes and varsity teams under the "Blue Eagles" moniker, regardless of sport, gender, or age group. The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams. The Spikers' Turf has served as the men's counterpart of the league.
