Jesus Joaquin Gaquit Melliza (born April 20, 1992), nicknamed Jhan or Jess Melliza, is a Filipino professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or a winger for Philippines Football League (PFL) club Kaya–Iloilo and the Philippines national team. Early life A native of La Paz, Iloilo City, Melliza was born on April 20, 1992. Collegiate career Melliza played for the Far Eastern University in the football tournament of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). He ended his college stint with FEU in 2015 by helping his varsity team win the UAAP Season 77 football title. La Paz () is one of the seven districts of Iloilo City in the Philippine province of Iloilo, on the island of Panay, in the region of Western Visayas. The 2022 AFF Championship (officially AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 due to sponsorship reasons) was the 14th edition of the AFF Championship, the football championship of nations affiliated to the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) and was the 1st edition under the name AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup. The 2019 Philippines Football League was the third season of the Philippines Football League (PFL), the professional football league of the Philippines. Ceres–Negros are the defending champions. This marks the revival of the Philippines Football League as the league folded after the 2018 season to give way for the Philippine Premier League, intended as a successor league to the PFL, which proved to be short-lived. The season started on 3 March and concluded on 25 August. The league was contested by six teams from last season's eight, after Meralco Manila and Ilocos United withdrew before the season began.
