Jersey Shore House
''Jersey Shore'' is an American reality television series that ran on MTV from December 3, 2009, to December 20, 2012. The series follows the lives of eight housemates at a vacation home in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, on the Jersey Shore in seasons one, three, five, and six; South Beach, Florida, in season two; and Florence, Italy, in season four. The show debuted amid controversy regarding its use of the terms " Guido/Guidette", its portrayal of Italian-Americans, and allegations of perpetuating stereotypes. It also was criticized by locals who observed that the cast members were not residents of the area. (Most were from New York, and at least two of them were not Italian). The show became a pop culture phenomenon with classes and conferences at universities about the show and journalists listing it as one of the most notable shows of the time. SallyAnn Salsano
SallyAnn Salsano (born c. 1974) is an American television producer. Her company, 495 Productions, has produced several television reality shows for MTV and syndication, including ''Jersey Shore '' and ''The Real''. Biography Salsano was raised in Farmingdale, New York, on Long Island, and graduated from Farmingdale High School in 1992. She named her company for Interstate 495 on Long Island. In 1996 she was a finalist for MTV's '' The Real World: Miami''. Salsano attended the University of Missouri. She started her career as an intern for TV and radio personalities Howard Stern and Sally Jessy Raphael, then worked in various producer capacities on '' The Bachelor'', ''The Bachelorette'', ''Trista & Ryan's Wedding'', ''Extreme Makeover: Wedding Edition'', and ''Surprise Weddings I & II''. ''Floribama Shore'' is an American reality television series that premiered on MTV on November 27, 2017, as a successor to ''Jersey Shore''. The series was set in the Florida Panhandle along the beach that stretches all the way to Alabama. ''Floribama Shore'' documented eight young adults who live together during the summer on the Gulf Coast in Panama City Beach, Florida. Production Filming primarily took place in Florida with the first two seasons of the show in Panama City Beach and the third in St. Pete Beach. Guido (slang)
''Guido'' (, ) is a North American subculture and ethnic slur or slang term, often derogatory, for a working-class urban Italian-American. The guido stereotype is multi-faceted. Originally, the term was used as a demeaning term for Italian-Americans in general. More recently, it has come to refer to working-class urban Italian-Americans who conduct themselves in an overtly macho manner or belong to a particular working-class Italian-American subculture. The time period in which it obtained the later meaning is not clear, but some sources date it to the 1970s or 1980s. The term is not used in Italy. South Beach, also nicknamed colloquially as SoBe, is a neighborhood in Miami Beach, Florida. It is located east of Miami between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The area encompasses Miami Beach south of Dade Boulevard. This area was the first section of Miami Beach to be developed, starting in the 1910s, due to the development efforts of Carl G.
