Jerry Bowman (born March 9, 1962) is a retired NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Winston Cup driver from Havre de Grace, Maryland, Havre de Grace, Maryland in the United States. Bowman participated in five different Winston Cup Series seasons (1982 through 1989). In his career, Bowman raced 3,812 laps and ran of racing. His total career earnings were $US27,820. Participating in only nineteen races, Bowman never won a race or finished in the top-ten (he failed to qualify for three different races). His best showing was at the 1985 NASCAR Winston Cup Series season where he finished the season with a position of 43rd in the championship – in addition to having had an average start of 30th place during the entire season and an average finish of 25th place. He is no relation to Alex Bowman despite sharing exact last name. 1983 Daytona 500
The 1983 Daytona 500, the 25th running of the event, was held February 20 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida as the first race of the 1983 NASCAR Winston Cup season. Summary Cale Yarborough was the first driver to run a qualifying lap of more than at the 1983 Daytona 500 in his #28 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. However, on his second of two qualifying laps, Yarborough crashed and flipped his car in turn four. The car had to be withdrawn, and the lap did not count (unlike current rules). Despite the crash, Yarborough drove a Hardee's Show Car (a Pontiac LeMans) in second-round qualifying and made the field. Ricky Rudd wound up with the pole, driving Richard Childress' Chevrolet in what would become a breakthrough season for the longtime independent driver Childress. The 1986 First Union 400 was the seventh stock car race of the 1986 NASCAR Winston Cup Series and the 36th iteration of the event. The race was held on Sunday, April 20, 1986, before an audience of 29,500 in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina at the North Wilkesboro Speedway, a oval short track. The race took the scheduled 400 laps to complete. Alex Michael Bowman (born April 25, 1993) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendrick Motorsports, part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 17 Chevrolet Camaro for Hendrick Motorsports. The 1985 NASCAR Winston Cup Series was the 37th season of professional stock car racing in the United States and the 14th modern-era Cup series season. The season began on Sunday, February 10 and ended on Sunday, November 17. Darrell Waltrip, driving for Junior Johnson, was crowned champion (for the third time in his career) at the end of the season. Bill Elliott, driving for Harry Melling, had won 11 races in 1985 (as well as the Winston Million), but lost the title by 101 points to three-time race winner Waltrip. Sprint Cup Series
The NASCAR Cup Series is the top racing series of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). The series began in 1949 as the Strictly Stock Division, and from 1950 to 1970 it was known as the Grand National Division. In 1971, when the series began leasing its naming rights to the R. J.
