Jeph Howard
The Used is an American rock band from Orem, Utah, that formed in 2001. The group consists of vocalist Bert McCracken, bassist Jeph Howard, drummer Dan Whitesides, and guitarist Joey Bradford. Former members include Quinn Allman, Branden Steineckert, and Justin Shekoski. The group signed to Reprise Records and rose to fame in June 2002 after releasing their self-titled debut album. They followed up with their second album, ''In Love and Death'', in September 2004 and their third album, ''Lies for the Liars'', in May 2007. ''Shallow Believer'', an EP that featured most of the band's B-sides, was released in February 2008. Their fourth studio album, ''Artwork'', was released in August 2009. Orem, Utah
Orem is a city in Utah County, Utah, United States, in the northern part of the state. It is adjacent to Provo, Lindon, and Vineyard and is approximately south of Salt Lake City. Orem is one of the principal cities of the Provo-Orem, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Utah and Juab counties. The 2020 population was 98,129, while the 2010 population was 88,328 making it the fifth-largest city in Utah. Utah Valley University is located in Orem. John Feldmann
John Feldmann (born June 29, 1967) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. He serves as the lead singer/guitarist of the band Goldfinger. Early life Feldmann grew up in Saratoga, California. He started writing songs around the age of 13 or 14. Around that time, he met the band Social Distortion, and was inspired to be like them. Career Feldmann's first band was Saratoga-based Family Crisis. In 1988, he moved to Los Angeles, where he formed the band Electric Love Hogs and met future Goldfinger bassist Kelly LeMieux. The Electric Love Hogs (which also included Dave Kushner of Velvet Revolver and Bobby Hewitt of Orgy) put out one album, their self-titled 1992 debut, which was co-produced by Tommy Lee. Feldmann formed Goldfinger in Los Angeles in 1994 after meeting original Goldfinger bassist Simon Williams in a shoe store where they were both working. The threshold quantity varies by type (such as album, single, music video) and by nation or territory (see List of music recording certifications). Heartwork (The Used Album)
''Heartwork'' is the eighth studio album by American emo band The Used. It was released on April 24, 2020 on Big Noise. Background In mid-2019, the Used signed to their long-time friend and producer John Feldmann's record label Big Noise. They started recording the album in June 2019, took a break to headline the Disrupt Festival tour, and finished recording the album in November 2019. A music video for the single "Blow Me" was released in December 2019, "Paradise Lost, a poem by John Milton" in February, and "Cathedral Bell" in April. This is the first album to feature Joey Bradford on guitar after Justin Shekoski left in 2018. The band recorded 27 songs during the ''Heartwork'' sessions and plan on releasing another album later in 2020 that will include the remaining songs. The deluxe edition was eventually published on September 10, 2021. The Canyon (album)
''The Canyon'' is the seventh studio album by American rock band the Used. The album was released as double album on October 27, 2017, through Hopeless Records and is dedicated to Tregen, a friend of Bert McCracken, who shot himself in Provo Canyon after coming off his anti-depressants for about a week. It is the only studio album to feature guitarist Justin Shekoski since Quinn Allman's departure in 2015. It was highly acclaimed by critics and fans alike and appearing on many best-of-the-year lists, though it only peaked at 50 on the Billboard 200. Background and production On February 2, 2015, the band announced that guitarist Quinn Allman be on a temporary leave of absence for a year; Justin Shekoski of Saosin was brought in to fill Allman's role. ''Imaginary Enemy'' is the sixth studio album by American rock band the Used. It is the first album released on, and the second label the band created and own, GAS Union. Imaginary Enemy is the final album to feature guitarist Quinn Allman before he parted from the band in November 2015. Recording The album was produced by John Feldmann, who also produced all of the band's studio albums with the exception of Artwork. In an interview with Jeph, he stated that they recorded the album "backwards" by having the vocals recorded first and then having the music written to the vocals. It is the first time they have recorded like this and did so because they were unhappy with the sound of the songs when recording the music so they scrapped the dozen songs they had written and tried something new. ''The Ocean of the Sky'' is an EP by American rock band the Used, released on July 9, 2013. It is available as a digital download and in compact disc format. A vinyl format was released in September 2013. It peaked at No. 20 on the alternative chart and No. 108 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. Release In July, the group played two weeks on the Warped Tour. Around this, the band surprise released ''The Ocean of the Sky'' EP on July digitally with physical copies available on the Warped Tour. The following day, a music video was released for "Iddy Biddy". On August 15, the band released a documentary on the making of the EP. On September 19, music videos were released for "Quixotica", "Thought Criminal" and "The Ocean of the Sky".
