Jasmine Delaney
Jasmine Delaney is a fictional character from the Australian television soap opera ''Home and Away'', played by Sam Frost. Frost was asked to audition for the serial while she was competing on ''Hell's Kitchen Australia''. After seeing that she was up against several actresses, Frost did not think she would be successful. Following a second audition, Frost was told she had won the role. Frost had no prior acting experience and she began working with an acting coach. She filmed her first scenes in August 2017, and she made her first appearance during the season finale broadcast on 18 December 2017. Jasmine's introductory scenes see her involved in a car crash, which kills Kat Chapman (Pia Miller). Jasmine is portrayed as a naive, trusting, kind "spirited Aussie girl". Samantha Frost (born 4 April 1989) is an Australian media personality and actress. Frost won season 2 of ''The Bachelor Australia'' in 2014. She later starred in Australia's first season of ''The Bachelorette'', which aired in 2015. Frost went on to co-host a breakfast radio show for 2Day FM in 2017 and began her acting career on the Australian television soap opera ''Home and Away'', playing the role of Jasmine Delaney. The Silver Logie for Most Popular New Talent is an award presented at the Australian TV Week Logie Awards. The award recognises the popularity of a new talent in an Australian program. It may or may not be their first television appearance, however it is their first major television role. It was first awarded at the 22nd Annual TV Week Logie Awards ceremony, held in 1980 and originally called Most Popular New Talent. This award category was eliminated in 1999 and replaced by the Most Popular New Male Talent and Most Popular New Female Talent categories. After a 15-year absence, the ''Most Popular New Talent'' category was reintroduced in 2014 to replace the gender specific categories. It was briefly renamed Best New Talent (2016-2017). ''New Idea'' is a long-running Australian weekly magazine aimed at women that is published by Are Media. History The magazine was first published in 1902 by Fitchett Bros. The founder was Thomas Shaw Fitchett. It was subtitled A Women's Home Journal for Australia. Summer Bay is the fictional coastal town featured in the Australian soap opera, '' Home and Away''. Palm Beach, the most Northern beach of Sydney, is used for the show's exterior scenes in order to depict the Bay. Between 2010 and 2014, the Lane Cove River Tourist Park in Macquarie Park was used as the location for filming of scenes involving the Summer Bay Caravan Park.
