Jan Grønli
Jan Grønli (born August 18, 1950) is a Norwegian actor. From 1971 to 1991, Grønli was associated with the National Theater in Bergen, the Rogaland Theater, and the National Theater in Oslo. He was employed by the Norwegian Theater in 1991. He is considered Norway's foremost interpreter of Thomas Bernhard's plays. Grønli has also read several audio books, including '' Epp'' by Axel Jensen and '' Ut og stjæle hester'' (Out Stealing Horses) by Per Petterson, as well as Jan Guillou's ''Crusades'' trilogy. The Saint Olav Drama
''Saint Olav Drama'' ( no, Spelet om Heilag Olav) is an outdoor theatre performance played every end of July in Stiklestad in Verdal, Norway. The play commemorates the Battle of Stiklestad that took place in the year 1030, and which resulted in death of King Olaf II of Norway. In the aftermath of his death, King Olaf would later be canonized as Saint Olaf (''Heilag Olav''), patron saint of Norway. The play explores the transition process between traditional pagan customs and the introduction of Christianity into Norway. The play draws on historic events mentioned in ''Heimskringla'' written by Snorri Sturlson. The play features other historical Norwegian figures, including Rögnvald Brusason and Thorir Hund. ''Saint Olav Drama'' was written by Olav Gullvåg, with music composed by Paul Okkenhaug (1908-1975). It has been staged every year since 1954. ''Jonny Vang'' is a Norwegian film from 2003. It was directed by Jens Lien after a script by Ståle Stein Berg. The music was composed by the band Calexico. The plot is a drama-comedy from the Norwegian countryside, where the protagonist Jonny Vang is frustrated in his efforts to prosper as a breeder of earthworms. ''Aberdeen'' is a 2000 Norwegian-British drama film directed by Hans Petter Moland and starring Stellan Skarsgård, Lena Headey and Charlotte Rampling. Synopsis Lawyer Kaisa Heller, just promoted, has no apparent emotional attachments, preferring nameless encounters with men. She is surprised to receive a call from Helen, her dying mother, with a final request to bring Kaisa's estranged father Tomas to see her at the hospital. The film is a bit of a road movie with encounters along the way, some confrontational, such as boozing louts who harass her father or angry stewardesses issuing ultimatums, while some are romantic, such as truck driver Clive whom Kaisa attempts to use, but instead finds herself attached to.
