Jan Ditlev Hansen
Jan Ditlev Hansen (born 26 March 1946 in Trondheim, Norway) is a Norwegian Jazz journalist and program host at the NRK. He is married to Cand.polit Randi Marie Haugland, at University of Tromsø. Career Hansen has been closely involved in northern Norwegian jazz for 40 years. First in the Harstad as secretary and director of Nordnorsk Jazzforum in the early 1970s, then in Vadsø, in which he was master of ceremonies during the first Varangerfestivalen in 1982. Since 1978 he has worked for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, and has made numerous radio and television programs about the northern Norwegian jazz. From 1997 he has been living in Tromsø, where he produces his weekly Rundt midnatt (Around midnight) for the NRK P2. He is also part of the NRK Jazz editorial. Hansen has written journalistic books, articles, and local historical writings, including the jazz. Trondheim
Trondheim ( , , ; sma, Tråante), historically Kaupangen, Nidaros and Trondhjem (), is a city and municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. Moldejazz
Molde International Jazz Festival (MIJF) or Moldejazz (established 1961 in Molde) takes place annually in July, and is known as one of the oldest jazz festivals in Europe. It was initiated by the local Storyville Jazz Club. Since 1964 it has received government support, and the government Buddy Award was for several years awarded at this festival. To the extent Molde festival operates with records, is probably the bassist Bjørn Kjellemyr holder of "Most festivals in a row" musicians record. In 2015 he visits Moldejazz for the 17th time in row as performer. Two club gigs with Dag Arnesen's band is on the program for the versatile bassist. Guttorm Guttormsen (1974), Jon Balke (1975), Karin Krog (1978), Knut Riisnæs (1984), Terje Rypdal (1985, 1986, 1988) and Jon Eberson (1987, 1989) are among the artists he has visited Moldejazz through the years. Finn Sletten
Finn Sletten (born 11 August 1952) is a Norwegian jazz musician (drums and percussions). Career Sletten was born in Bodø. After a study tour to Arizona (1968–70), he played in his home town with such musicians as Paul Weeden Band at Festival of North Norway (1972) and an album (1974). In Oslo he participated in Magni Wentzel Quintet, including Jon Eberson (guitar), Tore Brunborg (saxophone) and Jon Balke (keyboards) among others. From 1988 he was involved in "Trio Nord" (1988), Ola Bremness ''Vær hilset!'' (1995), Marit Sandvik band, Nordland jazzforums ''Distant Reports'' (2001), Tore Johansen and Jan Gunnar Hoff's production ''Free Flows'' (2005). Sør-Trøndelag
Sør-Trøndelag () was a county comprising the southern portion of the present-day Trøndelag county in Norway. It bordered the old Nord-Trøndelag county as well as the counties of Møre og Romsdal, Oppland, and Hedmark. To the west is the Norwegian Sea (Atlantic Ocean), and to the east is Jämtland in Sweden. Stubøprisen
Stubøprisen (an Award initiated in 1989, in memory of the late guitar virtuoso and Northern Norway Enthusiast Thorgeir Stubø) is the highest honor given to a Northern Norwegian jazz musician. The award is given every second year to a person who makes or has made a special contribution to the Northern Norwegian Jazz Scene by the Thorgeir Stubø Memorial Fund (established 1987). The idea behind Thorgeir Stubø Memorial Fund is to honor a great jazz musician and simultaneously stimulate Northern Norwegian culture. NRK P2
NRK P2 is one of three main, nationwide radio channels produced by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK). Its current format – focusing on news and current affairs, debate, analysis, culture, science, and society – is the result of the NRK radio channel reform initiated in 1993 by radio director Tor Fuglevik. In style and content, the channel is similar to the Danish DR P1 and the Swedish SR P1. The original P2, established as NRK's second radio channel in 1984, had carried lighter programming. In 1999 the channel's employees were collectively awarded the Fritt Ord Award for their championship of freedom of speech.
