Jan Arvid Johansen
Jan Arvid Johansen (18 June 1947, in Havøysund – 7 October 2017) was a Norwegian musician. He was a graduate of the Nordnorsk Musikkonservatorium (1976–79). Johansen recorded with such groups as Erter, Kjøtt og Flesk (1973) and Nordnorsk Visegruppe (1975–1980) and he worked at the Hålogaland Teater (1979–1981) and with the performing group Tramteateret (1985). He worked with the lyricist Helge Stangnes, and such artists as Sverre Kjelsberg, Trygve Henrik Hoff, and Tove Karoline Knutsen, played Irish music in the group "Rebels", been a part of Forente Artister's "Sammen for Livet" (1985) and "Visehjelp til Nordvest-Russland" (1998). He established and released many records with the group Boknakaran. Havøysund
Havøysund ( sme, Ávanuorri) is the administrative centre of the Måsøy Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The village is located on the small island of Havøya, but is connected to the mainland by the Havøysund Bridge. The village has a population (2017) of 976 which gives the village a population density of . Havøysund is a fishing village which offers a generally wide range of common services. There are fish processing factories, a boat yard, a petrol station, doctors, Havøysund Church, various shops, a sports hall, and museums. Havøysund also has a varied and lovely architecture; all the way along the beach one finds post-war houses, the so-called (the houses built after World War II all had the same design). Hålogaland Teater
Hålogaland Teater is a regional theatre serving the region of Nord-Norge, the northernmost of Norway. It got its name after the northernmost county in Norway in the Middle Ages Hålogaland. When established in 1971, it was the first regional theatre in Norway and the first professional theatre in Nord-Norge. Many of its productions are staged in the regional Norwegian dialects. Although based in Tromsø in the Arctic Circle, where it occupies a modern purpose-built building, the theatre also tours the surrounding rural areas. The varied schedule includes a mixture of genres, contemporary and classic drama, and musical and children's theatre. Tramteateret
Tramteatret was a Norwegian left-oriented theatre performance group active from 1976 to 1986. The group included the members Marianne Krogness, Liv Aakvik, Terje Nordby, Kine Hellebust and others. Their first production was the satirical ''Deep sea thriller'', with references to the Bravo accident in April 1977, the largest oil blowout on the Norwegian shelf. They made a number of productions for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, including ''Serum serum'' from 1980, ''Pelle Parafin og automatspøkelsene'' (1981), and ''Hemmelighetene i B-by'' (1982). Sverre Kjelsberg
Sverre Kjelsberg (18 October 1946 – 18 June 2016) was a Norwegian singer, guitarist, bassist, composer, and lyricist. He was a member of the band The Pussycats from 1964. He and Mattis Hætta represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 1980 with the entry '' Sámiid Ædnan'', which was composed by Kjelsberg and Ragnar Olsen. On 18 June 2016, Kjelsberg was found dead in his home, aged 69. He had been ill with cancer previously, but was declared cancer-free in 2015. No cause of death has been determined. Trygve Henrik Hoff
Trygve Henrik Hoff (7 July 1938 – 2 December 1987), born in Rognan, Nordland, was a Norwegian singer, composer, songwriter, and writer. He was a teacher at Buskerud folkehøgskole (Heimtun) for many years when he lived in Darbu, Øvre Eiker. For some time, Trygve Hoff was the conductor of Berlevåg Mannsangforening. Hoff was born and raised in Rognan, Nordland. His work as a writer and artist showed an appreciation of his roots, and he found inspiration for his texts from his home in Northern Norway. Hoff was awarded the Nordland fylkes kulturpris (Nordland County Culture award) posthumously in 1988. The newspaper ''Nordlys'' and the television channel NRK named Hoff's ''Snart gryr en dag'' as the best North Norwegian compilation albums of all time. Tove Karoline Knutsen
Tove Karoline Knutsen (born 14 January 1951 in Torsken) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. She was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Troms in 2005. She graduated as cand.philol. in 1982, and spent large parts of her career as a "freelance musician, composer and artist". She was a member of the board of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation 1992–1998, Arts Council Norway 2001-2004 and Nesna University College 2001–2005. She was instrumental in the 2014 Olympic bid for Tromsø, which ultimately failed. Forente Artister
Forente Artister (English: United Artists) was a group of Norwegian artists that went together in 1985 to record the song ''Sammen for livet'' (English: ''Together for Life'') in order to raise money for the victims of hunger in Africa. The lyrics were written by Halvdan Sivertsen and the melody by Åge Aleksandersen. This project was inspired by Band Aid and Forente Artister was thus part of a large humanitarian initiative. The project resulted in an album which in addition to ''Sammen for livet'' also consisted of several newly recorded songs by some of the participators. The song and the project received a special award in the Spellemannsprisen 1985 (The Norwegian equivalent to Grammy awards). ''Norsktoppen'' was a musical hit list at NRK Radio, originally playing songs exclusively by Norwegian artists. Until 1986, the songs had to be in the Norwegian language.
