Lahoud (Arabic: لحود) or LaHood is the surname of a Maronite Lebanese family whose members have been prominent in Lebanese politics. A part of the Daou families, they allegedly trace their origin back to Ghassanids. Nassib Lahoud (23 November 19441 February 2012) was a Lebanese Christian political figure. He held various posts including Member of parliament, Ambassador to the United States of America, and Minister of State ( without portfolio) . He was also head of the Democratic Renewal Movement and a leading figure in the March 14 coalition, which nominated him as their presidential candidate when they held the parliamentary majority in 2008. His election was vetoed by Hezbollah and its allies, who refused to attend parliament and threatened not to recognise any president who was not the product of a consensus agreement between Lebanese political forces. Romeo Raphael Lahoud ( ar, روميو روفايل لحود; 22 January 1931 – 22 November 2022) was a Lebanese theatre director, composer, and author. Biography After studying at the Saint Joseph School, Lahoud began his career in 1955 as an impresario, in which he brought stars such as Louis Armstrong, Sacha Distel, and the to Lebanon. Michael Lahoud (french: Michel Lahoud, ar, مايكل لحود; born September 15, 1986) is a former Sierra Leonean footballer and current broadcaster for Austin FC. He also holds American citizenship.
