Jamil Hasanli
Jamil Poladkhan oghlu Hasanli () (born 15 January 1952) is an Azerbaijanis, Azerbaijani historian, author and politician. He served as a professor at Baku State University in 1993–2011 and as a professor at Khazar University in 2011–2013. He was an advisor to the President of Azerbaijan in 1993 and served two terms in the National Assembly (Azerbaijan), Parliament of Azerbaijan between 2000 and 2010. He was the main opposition candidate in the 2013 Azerbaijani presidential election where he came in second with 5.53% of votes. He has been the leader of National Council of Democratic Forces of Azerbaijan since 2013. Bilasuvar District
Bilasuvar District () is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the south-east of the country, in the Shirvan-Salyan Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Imishli, Saatly, Sabirabad, Salyan, Neftchala, Jalilabad, and Ardabil Province of Iran. Its capital and largest city is Bilasuvar. As of 2020, the district had a population of 105,100. Etymology The district is named after its capital city Bilasuvar. "Bile" is derived from the Turkish word “bilya” which means lowland, while "suvar" means a "cavalryman". Alimardan bey Alakbar bey oghlu Topchubashov (, ; 4 May 1862 – 8 November 1934) was a prominent Azerbaijani politician, foreign minister and speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. Biography There are varied assumptions about the birth date of Topchubashov, different authors and journals claim that he was born in 1865, 1862, 1859 and other similar dates.
