James Nallen
James Nallen (born 1973 in Castlebar) is a former Gaelic footballer who played for the Mayo county team. He is the team's record appearance holder with 132. He played in five All-Ireland finals, including an All-Ireland final replay against Meath in 1996, and won two All Stars, in 1996 and 2004. He won a National Football League medal in 2001. However, he never won an All-Ireland medal. He retired from inter-county football in 2010. At club level Nallen had much success with Crossmolina, winning Mayo Senior Football Championships in 1995, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2005 and 2006, as well as Connacht Senior Club Football Championships in 1999, 2000, 2002 and an All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship in 2001. He has also been a selector for Mayo. Crossmolina Deel Rovers is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Crossmolina, County Mayo, Ireland. The club fields Gaelic football teams in competitions organized by the Mayo GAA county board. History Crossmolina Dr Crokes GAA was affiliated with the Mayo GAA county board in 1887. In 1906, the name was changed to Deel Rovers. The name of the ground is called St Tiernan's Park. Tommy Jordan led the club to the 2000–01 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Michael Moore and Padraic Syron were selectors and Jarlath Cunningham trained the team. The Connacht Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament played between senior clubs in Connacht, with one qualifying from each of the five individual county championships. The winners of the Connacht football championship qualify for the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Crossmolina is a town in the Barony of Tyrawley in County Mayo, Ireland, as well as the name of the parish in which Crossmolina is situated. The town sits on the River Deel near the northern shore of Lough Conn. Crossmolina is about west of Ballina on the N59 Road. Surrounding the town, there are a number of agriculturally important townlands, including Enaghbeg, Rathmore, and Tooreen. Baile Chláir or Baile Chláir na Gaillimhe (anglicized Claregalway) is a Gaeltacht village about 10 km north of Galway city in County Galway, Ireland. All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship
The All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament which began in season 1970–71. It is the top-tier competition for the senior football clubs of Ireland and London. The current champions are Kilcoo of Down who defeated Kilmacud Crokes of Dublin on 12 February 2022 to win their first title. The current trophy is the Andy Merrigan Cup, named after a footballer who played for Castletown Liam Mellows and Wexford who died as a result of a farm accident at the height of his playing career. The Mayo Senior Football Championship (currently known for sponsorship reasons as the ''Connacht Gold Mayo Senior Football Championship'') is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by the top Mayo GAA clubs. Westport are the title holders (2022) defeating Ballina Stephenites in the Final. Honours The trophy presented to the winners is the Paddy Moclair Cup, which was first presented for the 1971 final. The winners of the Mayo Senior Championship qualify to represent their county in the Connacht Senior Club Football Championship.
