Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens or Kota Kinabalu Coastal Highway is a major highway in Kota Kinabalu city, Sabah, Malaysia. The highway was built at the reclamation land in the year 1990s and it was part of the Kota Kinabalu coastal development project. Sepanggar
Sepanggar is a sub-district of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. It is located around Sepanggar Bay which houses the Sepanggar Bay Container Terminal, a major naval base for the Royal Malaysian Navy as well as the Sepanggar Bay Oil Terminal. The main campus for Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Teknologi MARA Sabah, Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic and Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), are situated here. Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) is an international airport in Kota Kinabalu, the state capital of Sabah, Malaysia. It is located approximately southwest of the city centre. Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka ( en, Institute of Language and Literature, Jawi: ديوان بهاس دان ڤوستاک), abbreviated DBP, is the government body responsible for coordinating the use of the Malay language and Malay-language literature in Malaysia. Tun Mustapha Tower
Tun Mustapha Tower is a 122 metre, 30-story glass tower in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. It was built in 1976 by Mori Building Company, a Japanese builder. The building was formerly named Yayasan Sabah Tower as it housed Sabah Foundation (Yayasan Sabah), a state-sponsored foundation to promote education and economic development in the state. In 2001, the tower was renamed to honour Tun Datu Mustapha, a former Sabah chief minister. It is the fifth tallest building in Borneo after the 132-metre tall Sabah State Administrative Centre, 129-metre tall Jesselton Quay Citypads, 126-metre tall Wisma Sanyan and the 125-metre tall Harrington Suites. There is a revolving floor on the 18th floor, which slowly spins to give a complete view of Likas Harbour. It makes one 360 degree rotation per hour. Kota Kinabalu City Mosque
The Kota Kinabalu City Mosque ( ms, Masjid Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu) is the second main mosque in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, after State Mosque in Sembulan. The head imam is Ustaz Haji Hafiz Bin Datuk Dr Haji Hamzah. History Preparations for the mosque began in 1989, and the installation of foundation piles began in 1992. Construction was delayed between 1993 and 1994 owing to a lack of funds. The mosque was officially opened on 2 February 2000 following a proclamation of the city status of Kota Kinabalu. Construction of the mosque cost 34 million Malaysian ringgits. The architectural design is based on the Nabawi Mosque, the second holiest site in Islam, in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Muhammad Fuad Stephens, (born Donald Aloysius Marmaduke Stephens; 14 September 1920 – 6 June 1976) was a Malaysian politician who served as the 1st and 5th Chief Minister of Sabah from September 1963 to December 1964 and again briefly from April 1976 to his death in June 1976, 3rd Yang di-Pertua Negara of Sabah from September 1973 to July 1975, 6th High Commissioner of Malaysia to Australia from 1968 to 1973. In addition, he also served as the 1st ''Huguan Siou'' or Paramount Leader of the Kadazandusun community. He played a role in bringing Sabah into the Federation of Malaysia in 1963. While he was initially against the idea of Sabah joining in the Federation, given British concerns about the stability of the region and their move to relinquish all their colonies in the post WWII era, he was gradually convinced to work towards it. Likas is a sub-district in the city of Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Likas is known for where shopping complex, government and private hospital, universities and colleges such as Universiti Malaysia Sabah and government administration centre is located. Likas Sports Complex together with Sabah Women and Child Hospital is also located here. The area also mostly covered by housing estate such as the Likas Village. Likas is also a bustling metropolitan area where new high skyscrapers buildings have recently flourished.
