Federal Route 92, also known as Pengerang Highway (Jalan Raya Pengerang), is a federal highway that runs from Kota Tinggi to Sungai Rengit in Johor, Malaysia. The 66.8 km (41.5 mi) highway is also a main route to Desaru beach. Federal Route 92 became the backbone of the road system linking the southeastern Johor before being surpassed by the Senai–Desaru Expressway E22. History Federal Route 92 was built under KEJORA (Southeast Johor Development Authority; or Lembaga Kemajuan Johor Tenggara in Malay) program to develop the poorly developed areas in southeastern Johor. Johor Lama is a mukim in Kota Tinggi District, Johor, Malaysia. It is situated on the banks of Johor River. It was once a thriving port and the old capital of the Johor Sultanate. History Johor Lama is located near the site of the former capital of the Johor Sultanate, Kota Batu, which was established by Alauddin Riayat Shah II of Johor, Alauddin Riayat Shah II shortly after the fall of the Sultanate of Malacca in 1511. Kota Batu was sacked and burnt by the Aceh Sultanate, Acehnese in 1564, and Alauddin was taken to Aceh and killed. The capital was then moved to Bukit Seluyut for a few years. In the early 1570s, the sultan Ali Jalla Abdul Jalil Shah II, Ali Jalla returned to the Kota Batu area and reestablished the capital at Johor Lama. Senai–Desaru Expressway, SDE ( Malay: ''Lebuhraya Senai–Desaru''), is an expressway in Johor, Malaysia. It connects Senai in central Johor to Desaru in eastern Johor. Measuring a total length of , it is the third east–west-oriented expressway in the Iskandar Malaysia area after the Pasir Gudang Highway and the Pontian–Johor Bahru Link of the Second Link Expressway. With a new crossing over the Johor River, when opened on 10 June 2011, the expressway shortened travel time from Senai to Desaru from 2.5 hours to one hour. The Kilometre Zero of the expressway is located at Senai Main Interchange at Senai.
