Batu Enam
Batu Anam is a town in the northern part of Segamat District, Johor, Malaysia. It is about halfway between downtown Segamat and Gemas, Negeri Sembilan. Economy Batu Anam is surrounded by rubber and oil palm plantations and the more prominent plantations are Sungei Senarut Estate, Paya Lang Estate and Gomali Estate with a number of smaller estates and smallholdings. There is an old rubber factory known as H&C Latex still in use. Paya Lang Club had a beautiful 9-hole Golf Course which is now planted with Palm Oil trees after the plantation was sold to local interests. North–South Expressway Southern Route
The North–South Expressway Southern Route is an interstate controlled-access highway running parallel to the southwestern coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The expressway forms the south section of the North–South Expressway, connecting the states of Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Malacca and Johor. It begins at Seri Kembangan, near the state/territory boundary between Selangor and Kuala Lumpur and travels southwards to end at Pandan-Tebrau in Johor. Labis
Labis is town and a mukim (township) in Segamat District in northern Johor, Malaysia. A main trunk road that runs north-south Peninsular Malaysia passes through it, as well as the KTM railway line that connects it with the state's capital in the south, Johor Bahru. History Labis started as a small village known as Kampung Paya Merah. The village got its name from a type of river grass which became the favorite food for river terrapins. In early 20th century, British officers came to the villages to survey for new areas to be developed in Segamat district. The British officers were surprised to see the river terrapins since they had not seen those animals before. Tampin
Tampin is a town in Tampin District, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, which borders Pulau Sebang town in Alor Gajah District, Malacca. History and etymology Tampin gets its name from the container or pouch weaved from the pandanus fronds. The container was used to store condiments such as the ''kelamai'' or ''dodol'' and the shrimp paste ''belacan''. The district of Tampin is also called ''Luak Tampin'' as the word ''luak'' is the local term for a district. Tampin was originally part of Luak of Rembau.
