Jalaal Zulfonun ( fa, جلال ذوالفنون, Jalâl Zolfonun, ) was an Iranian musician, setaar player, and a prominent composer and teacher of Persian music. Fajr International Music Festival
Fajr International Music Festival ( fa, جشنوارهٔ موسیقی فجر) is Iran's most prestigious Music Festival founded in 1986. The festival is affiliated with UNESCO and includes national and international competition sections. Since its establishment, many musicians from several countries like Austria, Germany, France participated in the event. The festival have enjoyed a strong presence of Asian countries as well. The 22nd Fajr International Music Festival was held in January 2007. Dariush Safvat
Dariush Safvat ( fa, داريوش صفوت; 28 November 1928 – 17 April 2013) also spelled as Daryush Safvat, was a master Persian traditional musician, teacher, and ethnomusicologist. Safvat is best known for his mastery of setar and santur instruments. Safvat was the founding director of the in Tehran; and some credit Safvat with saving traditional music from obliteration in the 1970s. Early life and education Dariush Safvat was born on 28 November 1928 in Shiraz, Iran. He began learning to play the setar at an early age from his father, Ali Asghar Safvat, who also played the ancient instrument. Among others, Safvat studied with two other Masters of Persian classical music, Abolhasan Saba and Haji Agha Mohammad Irani Mojarrad. Music of the World is a World music record label that was active from 1982 to 2000. The company produced over 100 CDs and cassettes of traditional and contemporary artists from around the world. Nomad and Latitudes were imprint labels. ''Music of the World'' was formed in New York in the early 1980s by Bob Haddad, an amateur ethnomusicologist, teacher and professional musician, who began to record demo tapes for traditional musicians in his apartment. Word began to spread among world music artists who needed recordings to sell at their gigs, and soon, world-class musicians began contacting Bob to ask for his help in producing recordings. Reza Ghassemi
Reza Ghassemi ( fa, رضا قاسمی; born 1949) is an Iranian novelist and musician. Life Ghassemi was born in Esfahan. Besides his activities as a writer he is also involved in exercising classical Iranian music and a master of the Persian lute, the Setar. He has composed songs for the Iranian maestro Shahram Nazeri and been on stage with leading Iranian vocalists, such as maestri Mohammad Reza Shajarian and Sepideh Raissadat. His best-known composition is the last track on the best-selling classical Iranian album ''Gol-e Sadbarg'', released in 1984.
