Reza Ghassemi
Reza Ghassemi ( fa, رضا قاسمی; born 1949) is an Iranian novelist and musician. Life Ghassemi was born in Esfahan. Besides his activities as a writer he is also involved in exercising classical Iranian music and a master of the Persian lute, the Setar. He has composed songs for the Iranian maestro Shahram Nazeri and been on stage with leading Iranian vocalists, such as maestri Mohammad Reza Shajarian and Sepideh Raissadat. His best-known composition is the last track on the best-selling classical Iranian album ''Gol-e Sadbarg'', released in 1984. This album, which includes compositions from Jalal Zolfonoun and Shahram Nazeri as well as Reza Ghassemi, is believed to have had the most influential effect on young Iranian artists who initially were reluctant to learn the Setar. The Hooshang Golshiri Literary Award is an Iranian literary award notable for being one of the few literary awards in Iran that is run by a non-governmental organization. Established in 2000, the award is sponsored by the non-profit Golshiri Foundation. The award focuses on modern contemporary Iranian literature. It is named in honor of Hooshang Golshiri, one of the most distinguished pioneers of Iranian modern fiction, who died in 2000. The first award was given in 2001 (1380 Solar Hijri calendar). ''Gol-e Sadbarg'' (), is the debut album of Shahram Nazeri released in 1984, containing eight tracks. The album consisted exclusively of the lesser-known poems of Rumi and was released on the 800th anniversary of the birth of Rumi. The album became immensely successful and became the biggest selling album of both Persian music and Sufi music. Sepideh Raissadat ( fa, سپیده رئیسسادات) is a classical Persian music singer. Biography Sepideh Raiissadaat Sepideh Raissadat was born in Tehran in 1980. She began studying Radif (the Repertoire of Persian classical music) at the age of 9 with the famous Persian singer Parisa and continued with Parviz Meshkatian and Mohammad Reza Lotfi. Her major soloist instrument is the Setar. Her first album was recorded when she was 18, thanks to Ostad Parviz Meshkatian. After she finished her B.A. in Painting, she moved to Italy to pursue her artistic education. She graduated in Musicology majoring in Ethnomusicology from the University of Bologna. Mohammad Reza Shajarian
Mohammad-Reza Shajarian ( fa, محمدرضا شجريان; , 23 September 1940 – 8 October 2020) was an Iranian singer and master (''Ostad'') of Persian traditional music. He was also known for his skills in Persian calligraphy and humanitarian activities. Shajarian started his singing career in 1959 at Radio Khorasan, rising to prominence in the 1960s with his distinct singing style. His main teachers were Ahmad Ebadi, Esmaeil Mehrtash, Abdollah Davami, and Nour-Ali Boroumand. He also learned the vocal styles of singers from previous generations, including Reza Gholi Mirza Zelli, Fariborz Manouchehri, Ghamar Molouk Vaziri, Eghbal Azar, and Taj Isfahani.
