Jakub Grigar
Jakub Grigar (born 27 April 1997) is a Slovak slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2012. He specializes in the K1 discipline and occasionally competes in kayak cross. Grigar competed at two Olympic Games. He finished 5th in the K1 event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and won the silver medal in the K1 event at the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. He also won two silver medals in the K1 team event at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, earning them in 2015 and 2021. Career Junior Grigar first appeared at major junior events in 2012 (at age 15) and immediately had success, winning bronze in the K1 event at the World Junior Championships in Wausau. In four World Junior Championships he never finished outside of medals in the individual K1 event, winning 2 golds and 2 bronzes. He also won the K1 title at the 2013 European Championship and a silver at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, which was raced on flatwater. ... European Junior And U23 Canoe Slalom Championships
The European Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships is an annual international canoeing and kayaking event organized by the European Canoe Association (ECA). The Junior Championships were first held in 1995 and then every two years until 2003. The Under-23 Championships were first held in 2002 as part of the senior championships that year. Since 2004 the junior and U23 age categories are held annually together as part of the same event. Athletes under the age of 18 are eligible for the junior category.
